Jose making a point tonight by not playing a proper striker.

Who would you take?

Torres? Ba? Moses?

Ive not mentioned lukaku because I doubt they'd consider selling him.

No one else?

I'd be tempted by Torres for under 7m

Ba could be a decent impact player.

Moses for me, ticks all the right boxes.

1. Young, hardworking and coachable.
2. Pacy and powerful
3. Can play in all forward positions
4. Would free up funds for other players
5. Allows us to send a younger attacker like Ibe on loan

Weirdly I was watching that first half thinking about the propsect of taking Torres on loan.

It's probably not a good idea but it'd make things very interesting.

United's side once again on paper, aside from the brilliant RVP is ordinary to say the least. It beggars belief how they punch so high above their weight, given how mediocre they look in many positions.

He needs to be loved and made to feel number 1, as he always had that before Chelsea

If he were to come back, it might reignite something

Fuck all that....its Chelsea they are not real anyway...they will buy another one when they get bored of what they got.....I've just read Real Madrid are gonna put Cornelius on 300,000 quid a week!! THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND QUID A FUCKING WEEK!!

Its all gone mad.

In hindsight I think Torres fell out of love with football in that last year with us. I don't want him back now as it looks like it was terminal. It's a sad but fitting fate for the judas. I guess he's got his 30 pieces of silver though.

I reckon it's more complex than that. I suspect Torres' agent was dripping poison in his ear at the time because he sniffed the possibility of a big money move for Torres/big commission for him, and Torres' head duly got turned, but deep down I don't think he really wanted to go - it was written all over him when we played them a few days after the signing. He basically knew he'd made a desperate mistake the minute he put pen to paper, and has never recovered from that. If he came back I actually suspect he'd do quite well, but it's too late for that now.

You're a desperate romantic Jules.
His commitment for 4 months before the transfer was dire. Deep down, and on the surface, he wanted out. His coach was gone, Liverpool had gone down hill and Hodgeson was in charge (Kenny only came in a couple of weeks prior to his departure I think?).

It's quite true that his attitude stank for a fair while before he actually went, and it's certainly possible that those things you mention could have accounted for that. However, the way he looked in those first few days as a Chelsea player was very, very striking - the mirror opposite of what one would expect if he'd just been liberated from a situation he wanted to escape, as was his ongoing form after that, which is why I have a hunch about his agent having been at the bottom of things initially.
