2-1 flatters us ... They're playing like it's a cup final - and dominating. We need to hold the ball a bit more and when we have the ball, be a bit more adventurous. Suarez isn't getting many opportunities to do anything ...

Ming - great save on Lampard, no chance on Hazard and should have done better on Eto'o.
Skittles - good instincts on goal, but poor on Eto'o's goal
Skaho - playing well again.

Allen - Seems tired.
Lucas - playing better than Thursday, but still something doesn't seem right. Has he lost pace or something?

Coutinho - wasteful.
STerling - needs more friends when attacking.

Last but not least - Glen Johnson ... The worst player o the pitch for us yet again.

Possibly, but unless we are losing this due to squad size then we have to say that our team on the pitch has been outplayed by a team that doesn't look much, if any, better on paper.
 
Sterling doing more defending than Johnson. You can be shit and still be arsed, look at skrtel, that's all he does.
 
Defensive organisation at the back is terrible, especially when players like Sterling and Coutinho are trying to tuck in to bail us out. Slack play all round, Agger, Skrtel, Allen, Coutinho and Johnson were all guilty there of not tracking players runs.

I've been thinking that for a while. He looks like someone with a bit of talent who got lucky and can't quite believe it. Perhaps he'll grow into the role.
 
Huge half-time rethink/team-talk for Brendan right now. Will he rejig tactically (3-4-3?) or look to make an early change.

If we can somehow get back in this and scrape a draw we're set fair for the new year. A improbable win makes for huge optimism.

A loss in the same vein as the first half suddenly brings into focus the fight we have on to get top 4.
 
Shit first half performance. All over the place and Mignolet's goalkeeping for 2nd goal...pathetic!
 
Need to get Suarez into the game. Im not sure how though as we've been outclassed in central midfield.

He's ace but needs a confidence boost again.

The next one who says bring back Reina should be punched. In the balls.

Really? A front line that consists of Hazard, Oscar, Eto with goalscorers behind them like Lampard, it's a very good front line, regardless of whether it's much better, it's enough to do damage against any side. And they have players like Torres and Mata in reserve, players they've been able to rotate. We haven't been afforded that luxury of rotating in £20m-£50m players.
 
I don't think a loss is that critical in the grand scheme of things ... We are as good as the 4 teams that would be ahead of us. We're a bit tired and it's showing.

I still don't get how Eto'o didn't even get carded. Howard Webb forgot he's not reffing Liverpool-Manure again?
 
Chelsea have been the better side comfortably.

Anyone who's downplaying them is just fucking thick.

mate thats bread butter for a keeper with decent agility, the shot had hardly any power on it, just needed to get down and turn it away
 
On plus side, we have looked a threat on the occasions we have attacked...........and cant be that bad in the second half...........surely not..........

As pissed as I am with the performance, this game wont make or break our season. We'll still in a good position.
 
Behind to two very good goals. Got to win the battle in midfield, because offensively Chelsea look potent today.
 
Suarez not really playing today, the Chelsea back four haven't had to worry about him yet. He needs to do more, hold it up better, and be more mobile. Too often he has been central next to Terry who is enjoying not being pulled all over the place.
And an awful tackle from Eto'o which should have seen him off. Late and high, a real leg breaker.
Full backs have been a bit exposed and vulnerable, Glenjo has been shocking going forward too. It's only a little pitch at SB so where they are finding this space from is beyond me.
 
Yep, they've been very good. Really up for it and Moaninho have fired them up like crazy I suspect.
We look naive and flatfooted. We look young, which we are aswell.
Silly mistakes, tired and being outmuscled all over the pitch.

Need a lucky break and to score the next goal.
 
All we can do it come out in the second half improved. I hope Rodgers kicks hendo into gear, just like Etoo kicked him out of it

Mourinho has Chelsea playing like it's their cup final ... Let's see what our boys are made of ... COME ON RODGERS ... get 'em fighting and going crazy and let's get a point (or more!)
