i *think* that a win (newcastle), draw (palace) and loss (chelsea) could be enough to get us over the finish line.... I think this means Man City not winning every game and drawing one....

Stumbling to the finish line? With 11 straight wins and unbeaten in 2014? Hmmm that's some stumble!
If Chelsea win then they are right back in it too.
Would be a miracle if 84 points wins the league.

The 86 mark will most certainly be enough if Everton get something off City.

We've ridden a lot of luck these past few weeks. Our performance level needs to be higher to win this weekend. I'm not expecting any more good fortune, like penalties that we get away with, deflections that go in For us, clumsy Sakho tackles that are unpunished, etc etc etc.

We do, but I am deadly serious. We can't have players underperforming, handling balls in the area, getting away with red cards, and so on. We've been really fortunate. Now we Need to make our own luck. If not we will be eaten alive. Oh a 5-0 mauling of Chelsea would be great!

Everton , arsenal , spurs and city ...we came flying out of the blocks and got early goals . It will be interesting to see if we can do the same again here and if not can we handle a more cagey game .
Sunday is the day for a title-winning performance. If the team can step up and provide one top-quality effort and get the 3 points on Sunday, then we really will be in the box seat. From Kurt Russell in "Miracle" - "This is your time - now get out there and take it." I am pumped up for this and the game's almost a week away - **slows breathing - tries, in vain, to calm down**. We're so close, and yet so very far away too.
Of our 11-game run, 6 games we have won by 1 goal, 1 other game we were twice behind in, and against Southampton it may look like a comfortable win but we were outplayed for most of the first half after getting a lead. Only 3 times have we been comfortable - Arsenal, United and Tottenham.
We usually up our performances against the better teams. We look more motivated and more energetic.
It'll be interesting to see how Chelsea line up against Atletico. They'll be without Matic (cp), Salah (cp)m Eto'o (inj) and Ivanovic (susp) so I expect most of them to start in the weekend. It's not clear if the FA will do about Ramires but hopefully he'll be out as well.

I gather your point is that we can win games which haven't been easy . Fair enough , all true . In this case though i was talking about big matches where the first goal can have a massive influence on the game . If we don't get that and it's still 0-0 after 60 mins it will be interesting to see how we approach the game and deal with that type of situation . For me it's another type of test that requires some composure and patience . That's all i'm saying .
