Adam has the potential to be an Alonso, even a Molby for us (yes he's got the figure). His eye for a pass is second to none, and we all know he has just about the best set-piece delivery in the league. He won't be intimidated about gracing Anfield, and I think he's going to go down as a terrific signing by the end of next season. He's another leader too, something that is hugely important. Double figures in goals and assists next season. You heard it here first.

I think suarez will get far less of the ball from adam than he did from meireles, which means we will be worse off

He'll get far more from Adam, because Adam can find space in the most congested midfield and look like he's out for a wee dander. Meireles was fantastic at making runs from midfield to get on the end of things- was he pinging passes to front men?- no he wasnae. So we'll be better off.

I haven't been away, just busy- and working in a place where access is impossible. But nice to know you've missed me Wiz. :-*

I thought meireles and suarez played well together and exchanged passes a lot, short passes though. Adam on the other hand does not run, so when he pings these passes I fear the majority of them will be to carroll

You haven't watched Adam much Dantes. He glides forward, and passes (short passes) with attacking players. He also pings balls from deep for players to run onto. Not lumping it Carra style.

glides...a polite way of saying he runs slowly. I hope you are right, or failing that I will hope adams set-pieces will compensate for his gliding

As close to an Alonso we're going to get in our current non-Champions League plight.
An absoloute wand of a left foot, and I think he'll be at his best when we're struggling to break down mediocre/shite opposition who've clearly come for a 0-0.

Want to see him taking it off Carra deep rather than allowing him to pump it long to Carrol, plus he's dangerous from anything of 30 yards with his shooting.
Happy with the reported 7mill personally.

Just when I say how quiet the transfer has thread has gone, viola!

Very Good signing if 7m is true. Welcome Chuck.

I suppose. But Scholes didn't bomb forward at a million miles an hour, Molby either, or loads of other cracking midfielders. Does he run like Billy Whizz? No. But he finds space and moves into it. He is tailor made for a pass and move philosophy.

Anyone else think this was something of a masterstroke by Kenny?

We've been chasing him all Summer without ever actually making it official via statement etc and then when the collective press is going nuts about us having a rejected bid for Downing, we swoop and tie up the Adam deal swiftly?

With the lack of real tangible 'news' on our transfer movement this Summer, everyone went into overdrive with the Downing bid and then, Kenny just saunters up to Bloomfield Road and personally brings back Adam in his own car Paisley style.

Adam: Pretty fit, ay doc?
Doctor: You ain't fooling me.

Doctor: Aha...what do we have here then ay? Love handles a plenty...

Last fat joke of the season.

It's true mate yeah.
Adam doesn't drive apparently, so Kenny went up there and personally picked him up.

Adam has the potential to be an Alonso NO HE DOESN'T, even a Molby for us REALLY? REALLY? (yes he's got the figure). His eye for a pass is second to none IT'S SECOND TO QUITE A FEW TO BE HONEST, I COULD, and we all know he has just about the best set-piece delivery in the league BASED ON 1 SEASON WITH BLACKPOOL WHO GOT RELEGATED. He won't be intimidated about gracing Anfield, and I think he's going to go down as a terrific signing by the end of next season. He's another leader too, something that is hugely important. Double figures in goals and assists next season. You heard it here first.

That's some seriously shite quoting Ryan.
At least add some colour to your text!

I couldn't be fucked. Besides I'm leading the capitals usage trend around here, so thought I'd follow on with that.

Haha.

I suspect though that Buddha's recalling the vital part Scottish players played in our glory days. Our best ever defender (Jocky), arguably our best ever midfielder and IMO our best ever skipper (Souness) and a certain Kenneth Mathieson Dalglish are cases in point.
Absolutely, JJ. I always loved the contribution of our great scots.
I'd add a certain Steve Nicol to that distinguished list. He may not be just at the same level of this great trio, but he's very close.

I'm pretty sure that we have been done up.

From the looks of the medical we have signed Dale Winton instead of Adam.

It's a trap!

That's an excellent shout, jimmy. Stevie Nicol is IMO second only to Stevie G as our best ever all-rounder and I'd have him in the All-Time XI at LB.
Funny isnt it. For a nation thats been in the doldrums for so long its amazing to think that if you put together our best ever 11 you would have three or four Jocks in it.

------------------------------------------Clemence----------------------------------------
Kennedy-----------------Hansen-------------------------Lawrenson------------------Nicol
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------Souness--------------------Gerrard----------------------------
Beardsley---------------------------------------------------------------------------Barnes
------------------------Rush---------------------------Dalglish----------------------------.

Some of our older readers probably would disagree re-Beardsley but i think you couldnt argue about the Jocks.

Peter Beardsley was a great player, he also seemed a decent sort too. That's what the team is missing, a talented footballer who's also ugly as fuck. Someone who can really scare defenses.

Haha, that's ace !

A footballer that doesn't drive, though ?

How odd.

I think it has a certain charm about it - unless he has been banned of course
