Big style.

It used to fuck me off royally last season when Holloway was giving it the "He's worth 15M easily" shit, combined with his "They've no replaced Xabi Alonso, so I can see why they want our Charlie" blah blah blah...

Well if he's worth 15M quid, and as good as Xabi Alonso WHY ARE YOU PAYING HIM 8K A WEEK YOU SMALLTIME CUNTFUCK?

CHARLIE Adam has told Blackpool that Liverpool is the club he wants to join and another Scotland international could hold the key to the deal.

Seasiders skipper Adam has held talks with chairman Karl Oyston this week and The Gazette understands the 25-year-old expressed the wish to move to Anfield.

Pool are thought to be holding out for around £8m plus three players on a season-long loan.

And it could certainly speed up the deal if they could convince the Merseyside club to include defender Danny Wilson in the package.

Sources close to Liverpool suggest that Kenny Dalglish is prepared to loan out the centre-half or left-back for the coming season and that he could seal the Adam deal.

Nineteen-year-old Wilson has also been linked with a return to Rangers, from where he signed from Liverpool last summer in a move that could eventually be worth £5m.

Despite the fee, Wilson made only eight appearances for the Reds last season, including games in Europa League and Carling Cup. He broke into the senior Scotland side last season, winning his third cap as a team-mate of Adam in the friendly against Brazil in March.

Wilson’s fellow Liverpool defender Stephen Darby is another strongly linked with a loan move to the Seasiders as Kenny Dalglish’s club step up their quest to bring in Adam alongside midfield recruit Jordan Henderson.

I consider it bad form to use the word Pool in a sentence when it could be equally applied to both parties in a negotiation.

Off thread topic but it is mentioned in the above article...

I think it would be good to send Wilson back to Rangers for a season. I think he could be good, if not very good for us long term. A full season up there could do wonders for him.

Wilson playing in the Championship for a season would do him a lot of good.

For a central defender he's worryingly lightweight, but playing in that League should toughen him up a bit.

Wouldn't be against him going back to Rangers either, but prefer if he went to Blackpool.
Would be playing against the likes of West Ham, Birmingham, Forest, Leeds, Reading etc...decent opposition.

There are advantages either way.

If he goes to Rangers he will be playing for one of the top clubs. Good way to boost a player's confidence. If he goes to a team in England he will get more used to the league but might not improve a great deal if he is getting a battering every week.

Mind you, I guess Blackpool might do pretty well in the Championship next season

If Wilson goes back to the Gers I'd be a bit concerned we might find ourselves with a second Aquilani on our hands, not wanting to come back but not attracting acceptable bids either.

Any Championship team over Rangers every day of the week. Championship is tough as nails ... the Scottish league is bollocks.

Sure, that is possible JJ but Wilson didn't cost £20 million so we can't be hurt too badly. Well not as bad as the AA deal is going to hurt!

Not to derail this Adam thread but if it is toughness you want the SPL is tough, as tough as the Championship.
What they lack in technique and finese in Scotland they make up for it with their physicallity.

I think the point is that Wilson has already been top dog at Rangers and in the SPL. He needs regular foofball in a tougher league

If i remember correctly he is not on a long contract so what would concern me slightly is him going away on loan, doing well and then we won't be able to get much of a fee as he won't have long left.

Would rather send Wilson there than Shelvey. I want Shelvey to go to Villa in the Downing deal or something like that. Hope he can go on loan to a premiership club.

I was under that impression too Stu but I'm reliably informed by a few Sots that I know that the SPL is powder-puff compared to the EPL. I think because we see the bloodfest that is the Old Firm game we assume that's the norm in Jockland - apparently it's not. One of my mates is an Aberdeen fan and he swears that not one of their players would last 5 minutes in The Championship (as he's also a Dirty Leeds fan he is well placed to compare the 2 leagues).

I would only watch Celtic up there and their games can be pretty physical but I wouldn't argue with any type of ferocity that the SPL is a 'good' league overall. Ideally Wilson could go to Forrest or Leeds for a bit of experience if we couldn't loan to a PL club.

Blackpool fans are heralding their cunt of a chairman as a business genius with his handling of the Adam situation.

Hahhahahaha. The very same chairman who offered to resign as he realised he was the only chairman who, when they were in the EPL, worked in the way he thought was right. Whereas, really, everyone else thinks he's a joke. Of course, Blackpool must be right though given their huge wealth of top flight experience and Mr. Oyston's hugely admirable bloodline.

In August 2010, Oyston offered to stand down as chairman of the club, stating his belief that he has a different approach to the rest of the Premier League chairmen and the difficulties of dealing with top-flight players and their agents. Oyston said: "The offer (to stand down) is still open. I have told the board and, yes, I am very serious. Why? Because I'm not sure I have the right approach to be in this division. The more I speak to other people at other clubs, the more I realise I am a lone voice. There was some support for things I did and said in the Championship but there doesn't seem to be any in this division. Everyone else seems to subscribe to the way that business seems to be conducted and it is a way I find unacceptable, so we'll see."
