Champions League Games 19/20.2.2013

I suggest YOU go and watch the game again, we unlucky not to win. Them having a spell in the game where they were all over us is hardly surprising, but I think you'll find yourself in a minority of people suggesting we were "extremely lucky not to lose". I think you should watch it again, and then perhaps watch the 2001 cup final again for the definition of a team getting battered and walking away with a result. Have you forgotten about the chances WE created by carving them open?

Just to compound this point:

Shots on target: Arsenal 6, Liverpool 5
Shot accuracy: Arsenal 42.9%, Liverpool 50%
Goals: Arsenal 2, Liverpool 2

Do me a favour.

Nice selective stats. Convenient enough you choose to not mention

Total Passes 599 - 373
Possesion 62%- 38%
Crosses 31-12
Clearances 19-40

I did say we had nice counters. But for most of first half, and the whole of second half we were put under imence pressure, and still we managed to create huge chances on the counter which I DID mention. Seeing Arses defence yesterday explains part of the reason we managed to create those chances. They cant defend.

The way we approached that Arsenal game made me really angry, and I felt they dominated it, but that's in the context of both teams trying to commit suicide faster than the other defensively.

And bayern were unlucky to not beat chelsea. Think their players have matured under jupp this year. They've got a phenomenal record

Me and Wiz called Chelsea for the champions league this time last year.
This season I think Real will do it.
You will have to ask Wizzy what he thinks.

I read that their performance against arsenal was their weakest performance re: passing accuracy and possession.

And they still played arsenal off the park

I think Real and Mourinho will feel a huge sense of opportunity now that Barca is on the verge of elimination. They will play a game of their lives in Manchester.

Tbh, no one stands out for me yet ... I definitely seems like it could be Mourinho's 'farewell gift' to Madrid before he departs, but I still haven't locked in on anyone yet!

Could be Ferguson's farewell treble too.

It is a fairly open competition this year, could well be a surprise winner again.

It won't be Madrid.

If Barca go out then it'll be Bayern. Otherwise it'll be one of those two. I know I said Bayern would win it while in the group stages last season and I still struggle to fathom how they got beat by the Chavs. But they could have gone one of two ways this season; downwards very quickly but, instead they've taken the opposite route. Crushing the Bundesliga and looking untouchable in Europe.

I don't think Madrid can win the CL but I do actually think they're the only team who could stop Munich.
