I would starrt Assaidi against Norwich as Borini won't be fit.
I would also play Coates, he gives us that something extra from corners and free kicks along with being better than Carra now.

I've been following the reserves for a long time and I have to say that I'm chuffed to see the likes of Wisdom, Suso, Sterling, Robbo etc finally playing for the first team. There's also a sense of gratitude towards Rafa for the work he's done.

Downing is sooooooooo shit. Assaidi, Coates and Sahin, amazing. I think I would turn straight for Suso, I love him!!

I don't want to slam Downing. It's hard for a player who's got 0 confidence to perform, and he's a decent PL winger. Not good enough for us, but decent nonetheless. I hope we sell him so he can regain some of his confidence and enjoy the rest of his career. This was a terrible move for player and club.

Good performance.
That wasn't WBA first choice back four but the young guys did well against them.
The second goal was lovely.

Downing needs to be dropped, sharpish.
He offers nothing.

I think Sterling has been showing Downing what is expected of a wide player in this system and Assaidi just compounded that today. He had a great game.

They said pretty much that, just now on 5Live.

They said Downing needs to show more, for a man of his experience and price tag, or he won't be at LFC much longer.

He'll be ok though.

Bombing down that Camp Nou left wing.......

Top match thread. The positivity is great to see. I didn't catch the game though so does anyone have a link to the goals? I need to have a fap.

Yay sunny!

Don't get me wrong. I like the style of football we're trying to play. It will take time to get used to, it does leave us exposed more defensively and, without better players, I still think we'll struggle a little for goals but I'd rather see that type of football than stifling defensive shite. I really really enjoyed that performance. Really feel a little more positive now but we need to see more of it.

A few others and I have been saying this for a while, but our youngsters are going to save us over the next 5 years. It's a brilliant crop, and along with a couple of the quality buys recently-ish like Coates, Shelvey, and Allen, it does actually give us a great base of young players for the future. I mean the squad's still laughably unbalanced and we've got all kinds of work to do in the PL, but it's nice to have something to be optimisitc about. I just hope we carry on signing the best young talent, because we only started doing it a couple of years ago and already it's paying dividends.

You're on the way back ... I missed you

**prays profusely to beat Norwich 2-0 so the recovery continues**

Yup ... I hope we've built Man U's 1990-2010 model II ... Wouldn't that be great?

Get on the highlights on BBC 1 at 11.15 James. Have some Kleenex ready.

Here's another thing. If you're a promising young player and you've got a few top clubs courting you then watching kids come through and playing like that is going to make you sit up and think isn't it ?

It sucks when your accusations are confirmed false eh? 🙂

Yeh brainiac, because the accusation *fucking obviously* included all the things you might say in the future as deliberate and bone-headed attempts to retrospectively prove me wrong.

Durrrrrr.

See now, this is what we all needed. Keeping it simple, everyone in it together, not over complicating things.

And to think that all it took was letting a build up thread evolve into a match thread.
Don't anyone lock this fucker and start a post match thread.

I vote no more rubbish "official match threads".

Full draw:
Sunderland v Middlesbrough
Swindon v Aston Villa
Wigan v Bradford
Leeds v Southampton
Norwich v Tottenham
Liverpool v Swansea
Chelsea v Manchester United
Reading v Arsenal

Chaps. Stop it ! Tonight is a night to be happy, not arguing. Now kiss and make up or else I'm going to go back to being anti-Sunny

Yeah I was thinking the same. LFC has seemed to be a graveyard for promising youngsters in the last 10 years. Not anymore!

'If you build it..... They will come' 🙂
