Gerrard has been sloppy as fuck and at he moment is doing a disservice to the armband and has been for months.

I personally would play Şahin and push Allen further forward.

Lucas, Şahin and Allen. Failing that, Henderson should come in from Gerrard.

Christ that is knee-jerk bollocks. Sometimes I think people remember the world-class Gerrard and forget the EPL quality Gerrard. He is still better than any other midfielder we have. Sloppy passes occasionally, yes (but then everyone else is making them too), but also 60 yard pin-point passes, time on the ball that some others struggle to find and a nice goal too. In fact I want to see GERRARD pushed further forward not Allen.

I think you are looking at this through rose-tinted specs froggy.
He has been at best average all season. I do think we had to cut him some slack and see if he regained firm, but he hasn't and does not look like regaining it to be honest.
We are actually having to accommodate him, which is a) sad and B) wrong
