I guess the flip side is that they were pretty well set up defensively for a relegation side, due to putting men behind the ball and hoping to nick wins, so potentially in a more creative side, with more support and more license to get forward, he could get more goals.

Ha yeah, I was being facetious. I think that is more than likely the case.

I don't know enough about him mate other than the bits I've seen on MOTD and a few games this season, he's looked potentially good at times, scrappy at others but really sharp inside the box. I think there's promise there, like there is with Origi, but that's it.

We're hoping/wishing for alot from these two, but it's kind of refreshing to have two young and emerging strikers to watch develop for once, Ings at least has alot more fight and determination to succeed than we could say of our two Italian's. So it's interesting in that sense, but yeah, I get the lack of enthusiasm from some fans. I think if we buy a genuinely talented attacker who could be the catalyst for us again, then it could click for a few of these lads.

Yeah that's the crux of it, really. We've bought potential in Origi and Ings, but you'd also like to think that they were bought as back up for the time being. The question is: back up to who? If the owners are going to pull something out of the bag and we get a striker worth a damn to start up top for us, then Ings and Origi look like they could be decent signings. If they were bought to play alongside Charlie Austin then the apathy and despair may yet be warranted.
