To see if he's any better than Johnson?

He's not better at RB than Johnson.

Why would you not just play Kelly, who is a RB, and let Sterling get on with being good as a right sided forward.

Ok.

Sterling at right back is an idea I would give time simply because our left back, no matter which lb plays there is a MASSIVE weak point.

If Johnson was our left back against villa we wouldn't have lost, despite the shite performance, it made that much of a difference as they could play a slanted formation, quite literally ignoring him & encouraging us to give him the ball as well as using the extra man to press the midfield, in particular Gerrard.

As he's played there already this season I don't see it as a massive risk, & he gets forward a fair bit from there too.

Johnson at lb & Sterling at rb has the potential to make us stronger imo, both in defence & attack.

However, there's no way I'd want it tried for the first time against Everton, but if it works then it will help nullify their attack down the wings.

Other than Suarez being rested (as I've banged on about for beards) & the fbs I wouldn't make changes for changes sake.

I would expect a back four of Flanagan, Sakho, Skrtel and Kelly, unless we're going to stay at a back three for the forseeable.

Are Flanagan and Sakho even fit? Supposedly 15 senior players trained today? I'm afraid we'll field something like

Jones
Kelly Toure Skrtel Cissokho
Alberto Allen Henderson
Aspas Sturridge Moses

With Mignolet, Gerrard, Suarez, Coutinho, Sterling and 2 reserve/academy defenders on the bench.

According to the Echo we didn't lose against Villa

----------------Jones------------------
Kelly----Toure-----Sakho---Flanno
----------Allen-----Hendo------------
--------------Coutinho---------------
---Sterling--Sturridge----Ibe------

Sub Allen, Flanno and Sakho early on if we can. They all need game time ahead of the derby, but not too much. Coutinho needs a game to get going again.

We shouldn't be too cautious in our approach in this game. Bournemouth's midfield is as good as Norwich's, Sunderland's, Villa's etc and will test us but their defence is suspect; I suggest we accept that they'll make (and probably score) a few chances but that we just have to outscore them. I reckon if we put out a decent line up we should win.............I'll go for 2-3.

That team should be good enough to win.

This thread is a bit mental. It goes from one poster saying Player X is injured to another putting him in their line-up.

It is my understanding that Johnson, Allen and Sakho are all unfit and unavailable for selection. Is that the case or not? Also, has it been confirmed by anyone that Flannagan is actually back and match fit?

Yep, they're out injured and Flanno is back in training confirmed by the Echo.

Will be a strong line up tomorrow

So wait, we have two fit CMs? What the fuck is happening?

The Scouse boom-bust cycle has gone totally haywire this season it seems. Is this second half of the season going to totally fuck us?

Mingolet
Kelly - Skrtel - Toure - Cissoko
Gerrard
Henderson - Alberto
Sterling --------------- Coutinho
Sturridge

@Support_Believe: My predicted line up - Jones, Kelly Skrtel Toure Cissokho, Gerrard, Henderson, Moses Coutinho, Suarez Sturridge.

Confirmed team

Jones, Kelly, Toure, Skrtel, Cissokho, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Moses, Sturridge, Suarez

subs Mignolet, Alberto, Aspas, Sterling, Ibe, Flanagan, Sama
