Hopefully he'll get a lot of league starts there so we can see if he can handle it. Leaving us with 2 out and out strikers and aspaz?

Its a bit concerning that we will only have Suarez and Sturridge who are good enough to play up front, but it will hopefully be the making of the kid. I really like him, his finishing is great and everything else can be worked on with a striker.

Nah, my finishing is great but I'm fifteen stone and can't trap a bag of cement.

I doubt there's much a good coach could do with me to be honest.

I think he's a talented enough player that can be a very good squad option. Has a great attitude, great movement, great work rate and with a bit of composure and luck he could score a decent amount of goals.
Very hopeful regular first team experience in england will help with his confidence.

Good move to get him playing regularly in the PL, he is still young and we can't expect all players to be developing at the same pace. Agree with the concerns about strikers though.

Aspas will offer more up front than Borini, a season at Sunderland will do him the world of good, he needs to be starting most games, and we can't afford that here.

Does anyone seriously think he's going to go and learn shit at Sunderland and then one day be good enough for us?

Because he isn't. He's going on loan and he's going to be sold.

Like you said about Henderson last year?

You dont know shit. But at least you know you dont know shit. So i guess you know something.

It's the unknown unknowns that keep me awake at night.

This is the third season of a constantly improving Henderson still not being good enough for a decent Liverpool side. I really doubt Borini will get that opportunity.

Lol.

Are we charging them? Everyone else seems to get millions for loaning their players. Italian international innit?

Borini going straight into the first team will help his confidence as will plenty of starts. I hope the lads does well and bangs in the goals. Pity he has such a shite injury record.

[article]Italy football writer James Horncastle: "No one will be more pleased to see Liverpool striker Fabio Borini nearing a loan move to Sunderland than Italy coach Cesare Prandelli. It's hard to understate how highly regarded the 22-year-old is back home.

"A member of the Azzurri's Euro 2012 squad after scoring nine goals in his only season at Roma, Borini's first one at Liverpool under Brendan Rodgers, his former mentor during his time at Chelsea's academy, was desperately unlucky. Injuries meant he never really got to show his worth.

"Should Borini get a run of games under his compatriot Paolo Di Canio at the Stadium of Light, then he will score goals. He has an instinct for them, which in the past has led to comparisons with Pippo Inzaghi."[/article]

[article=http://www.peterleestar.co.uk/sport/football/sunderland-afc/liverpool-s-ex-sunderland-stars-help-fabio-borini-make-stadium-of-light-move-1-6007227]FABIO BORINI says Liverpool’s ex-Sunderland contingent endorsed his decision to join the Black Cats.

Striker Borini was one of two Italian internationals to arrive at the Stadium of Light before last night’s transfer deadline, with left-back Andrea Dossena also agreeing terms with Paolo Di Canio’s side.

Borini joins on a season-long loan from Liverpool and will replace Stephane Sessegnon in Sunderland’s attacking arsenal after the Benin international joined West Brom in a £6million deal.

The 22-year-old had fallen down the pecking order at Anfield this season and was made available on a temporary basis, despite Liverpool shelling out £10.5million for the former Chelsea youngster just 12 months ago.

And after speaking to Liverpool’s Sunderland old boys Simon Mignolet and Jordan Henderson, Borini was convinced he was right to make the move to Wearside.

“I asked them a few things about Sunderland, about the training ground, the fans and where I should live,” said Borini. “They gave me some advice and obviously Jordan is from Sunderland, so it’s his home.

“And Simon was really happy for me to come here because he said it would be the right place for me.

“I’m really looking forward to it.”

Borini admits he needed to play regular first-team football this season after being restricted to just five Premier League starts last year, albeit his campaign was put on ice for three months due to a foot injury.

The opportunity to work with Sunderland’s all-Italian management team also proved appealing for Borini, as he looks to force his way into contention for next summer’s World Cup.

“He (Di Canio) made an important movement for me because he looked for me and really wanted me here at the club,” added Borini to the Sunderland website. “That showed me the desire from him to get me here to the club. I know the way he plays football so it’s good to be here.

“It’s the right place to come and play a good way of football. Working with an Italian manager and an all-Italian staff will hopefully be good for me.

“It feels good to make the move because I was waiting for it.

“I was waiting for my chance to play and I needed to play after a season of injuries.

“This was the best option for me. Playing every week is very important for me to get my achievements and goals for the season.”[/article]
