It was very encouraging to see Torres excited to score. I thought his head had already left the club.

I think that is the case, I still think he will leave at the end of the season
Obviously he was happy to score, thats what he has done his whole career after all, but he just looks like he wants out.

Kuyt played 3 beautiful passes in the game all of which could have been assists. One to lucas, another to Maxi who hit the bar and another for torres who misshit the return pass.
He overlapped with Johnson all game and terrorised Alonso resulting in a yellow for him.
I thought he was ace.

This and he grafted and huffed and puffed and won back many balls and defended well

I don't think the last chapter in that story's been written yet. He may well be gone if Roy isn't, and if we don't sign some quality early on in the summer, but if those things DO happen I'm not convinced he'd go regardless.

Yeah, I thought Kuyt had one of his more productive games; not necessarily one of his better games but simply his effort reaped more rewards than recently. His touch is a disgrace and he really is slow in seeing the possibility but he absolutely hassled everything and regained possession through this on numerous occasions.

I can't forget this thread by commenting on Stevie who was just the embodiment of everything we want in a player; passion, ability, commitment and the strength to stand against the flow and change the game. Torres looked willing, to me, from the very start of the game; like he was determined to bring a different frame of mind to the pitch. Despite this he looked like he'd accepted the way the game was going to go until Stevie came on - then he picked himself up again. Our captain, however, was superb from the moment he stepped onto the pitch.

Stevie was immense. The team is so much better when he is fit.

I have repeated nightmares that Bolton equalised after Joe Cole scored for us because Reina could not save that (forgotten by whom) strike in the last few seconds.

It was Klasnic, and funnily enough I'd have been less cheesed off than I'd normally be if that shot had gone in, because it might have brought Roy's departure closer.

2 fortunate incidents during extra time:

1) Joe could be flagged offside but was not.
2) Klasnic could have scored as he was unmarked!

I am still convinced that Roy will go, sooner or later.

I agree! I never want teams to score against us but in the long term the sooner Roy goes the better, this has just extended his tenure. But defeats against United + Everton would finish him off - those are two games I definitely DONT want to lose tho!!!!
