I remember Torres saying he wouldn't of scored as many goals as he has, if it had not been for Kuyt creating space for him by his work rate
.. and then in his next breath, he was clamouring for us to sign "clever little creative players" like David Silva, Juan Mata and Carlos Tevez.

kuyt does make space for torres when he plays up top with torres. Like n'gog does. like ANY partner does for torres. Nando said it because he prefers workin with a partner, not on his own with 5 behind him. Who else did we have as a strike partner for torres when he said it? No one.

but yes, lets leave it at that in this thread

don't worry, we've got a french winger/full back coming for £1.5m!
If he's coming as an attacking full back that might not be a bad signing (c.ref Evra/Sagna/Clichy). *hopeful*

Oh and N'Gog was shite again.

Imagine how good we could be if we actually had TWO talented forwards again. *mindfuck I know*

He said it at the end of the 08/09 season after we had finished 2nd and Gerrard was playing behind Torres

but lets all celebrate 3 points further away from relegation 😉

i still think n'gog would turn into a decent/above average striker if he bulked up more. His first touch has improved, he just needs to work on his decision making a little bit more

His passing, speed of thought, strength and as you say, most importantly decision making is very poor. He's not far off an average striker but he's got quite some way to go to become a good one. He really should be 4th/5th choice (a Macheda-like contributing player).

i think he'd thrive more in a michael owen style striker role. Always on the last defender and uses pace to get to the goal. Being used as a target man to hold the ball up is new to him and he's trying to adapt. i thinks

kriss is bang on about Kuyt.

Am I the only one who was seething at Magic during the last 20 minutes? He's such a fucking liability at times, that pass to Skrtel was a nightmare.

Kuyt was utter shite today as he has been all year. Drop him. As was Johnson.
Least someone agrees with me. I'm not crazy am i sunny? HE really was that shit today wasn't he?
Garbage mate - he's really starting to wind me up. He plays complete safety football all the time. It stops the attacking flow and it's a bit negative. And Johnson seemed to find it impossible to pass to a red shirt today.

On the plus side Aurelio was a massive improvement at LB and he's far from outstanding. Overall 2nd half performance was much better than the first which was the same old turgid shite. Nice to see a bit of fight and passion though - it's the least we ask for. I thought Gerrard was superb second half.

I don't see any positive play from kuyt besides the occasional punt upfield which might find someone. Then it's exquisite. I intend to watch MOTD to see if his cross into the box was meant for lucas, or anyone at all.

magic was quite shocking today. started well but then became too nervy and didn't fancy attacking.

I'm still waiting for his crossing ability to show itself. I've heard he can after all

Who's 'Pat' this fat cunt on Setanta Ireland? I dont like him, he's a cunt.
Here he is in one of his finer moments :

Kuyt played 3 beautiful passes in the game all of which could have been assists. One to lucas, another to Maxi who hit the bar and another for torres who misshit the return pass.
He overlapped with Johnson all game and terrorised Alonso resulting in a yellow for him.
I thought he was ace.

Kut looks like he needs to retire. Either that or a month off. I love him, in the same kinda way I love my spastic hamster.

I thought kuyt slowed virtually everything down. the guy simply REFUSES to take the obvious passing option and seems incapable of keeping play moving quickly by passing the ball with one touch.

Completely agree with that plus his constant refusal to shoot at goal is starting to wind me up. It's like he's afraid to,

The fact that Kuyt doens't have pressure on him for a right wing space is more a slight on humanity that Liverpool's squad.

there are several people in the club that would improve their game no end simply by taking the obvious option presented to them. it's like they see someone in space and think 'nah, that's way too easy' and then look for someone else to pass to (usually this person is marked). when we started to move the ball faster (in the second half) bolton found it harder and harder to cope.

if I had an editing suite I'd cut together a video of players attempting the ridiculous when the obvious is staring them in the face.

also yes aurelio and agger and made of cheese, are hardly ever fit but when they ARE fit they should play, simple as fucking that.

It was very encouraging to see Torres excited to score. I thought his head had already left the club.

Where would we be without Stevie g?
