Berahinho

Sorry mate. I keep copy-pasting his name from other posts. I was being lazy...
Apologies!

He hasn't even had a good full season yet FFS. He's had a good six games.

I'm not saying he won't, but we've seen plenty of players have a full season looking like a Brazilian superstar then end up in division three the rest of their career.

Six games is more than enough to judge a player. Good or bad.

You should know better.

Linked with a bid in the Mail today.
Other stories were Borini to leave in January and Rodgers given the nod to sign a striker.

Selling Borini and adding Berahino would be great imho. This lad will be fantastic.

I rate him but it's lazy scouting if we are signing him now. We should have signed him in the summer as now we pay an extra £10m.

Might as well sign that lad at West Ham too.

Totally agree. Utd, city and chavs do that. Rarely find a gem just wait for others to do it

I want us to find potential as well. West Ham seem to have bought well

Gotta love the the West Ham love in. Give it until early new year and they'll revert to type and form and their fans will want Sam out again.

I would go all out for Lacazette in January. It's the most realistic attacking player we could sign. He's well ahead of his development than Berahino, and being from Ligue 1, is likely to hit the ground running as well. 21 goals last season, and 8 already this season.

I can see him being Benzema's partner in the national side very soon as well. Quality player.

Kramaric has 20 goals already this season. He got a hattrick against Feyenoord on Thursday . He looks boss and would cost 2 million euro. Rumours of Atletico, Inter and Milan watching him now.
2 in 3 for Croatia as well.

We're definitely going to need another goalscorer but I worry a move for Berahinho would be little more than a reaction to the latest young and available at a price striker. The lad is showing good form but he's scored a dozen goals in 41 top flight games. A £25m striker he is not...yet. With his transfer targets and tactics Rodgers can occasionally be a little reactive and signing Berahinho at a price of that magnitude would be another example of this.

I think we need to break the bank and get one of the top ten strikers, or one of the top two or three of the up and coming strikers. I just don't see anything else working well enough. A frightening striker. We already have a top but fragile striker in Sturridge, a solid striker in Lambert (if he ever recovers his confidence), a so-so support striker in Borini and a luxury enigma in Mario. We need a player who'll make hearts sink among our opponents when they see him on the team sheet. Easier said than done, of course, but we need to have learnt our lessons and improve.

Under Rodgers, we've already bought Borini, Coutinho, Luis Alberto, Ilori, Can, Markovic, Moreno, Origi and loaned Manquillo. Not everyone has fired (yet), and (on present form) it looks like we've overpaid for some, but we've definitely gone out and tried to do that; in fact I'd think that Rodgers' transfer policy has pretty much been based more on that than on buying finished products.

Unfortunately, (a) potential doesn't always get fulfilled, and (b) people love the idea of potential but hate the wait for them to be fulfilled.

Wasn't he superb last season too?

Didn't pay that much attention to him last season, but based on goals per 90 minutes stats (since he came off the bench a lot), he scored about 0.32 goals per 90. That's about the same clip as Sterling (0.37) last season. I think he also spent a fair bit of time playing on the wing instead of starting in the middle.

This season though, he's really gone and pushed ahead - 0.78 goals per 90 is pretty close to Sturridge's 0.83 goals per 90 last season.

You're mad.

I'd pay 10Mil tops.

On second thought, when you take into consideration of European and ROTW players, 10Mil is kinda pushing it and a bit of a gamble.
I'm not gonna ask the most obvious question regarding another acquisition, I'm just gonna presume that you think it was even madder.
