Benitez to be Newcastle Manager..

I can't see Rafa going to the Barcodes but then I didn't see him going to Chelski.

He'd improve the Barcodes but that wouldn't be difficult given yesterday's shambles.

Not sure he would improve them actually. He is certainly more than capable of doing so but not convinced they would give him the time to do so.

Doesn't surprise me though...Newcastle do have a tendency acquiring former Liverpool managers and players.
More often than not they're either finished as players or close to.

Keegan, Dalglish, Barnes, Rush, Owen...

Still, we paid £35 million for....*sigh*...hope Rafa buys him back.
You forgot Souness. Wish I could.

I thought he did quite well for us and improved us, helping to top up our trophy cabinet.

His current team have more points than us, as well as still being in Europe. It also looks they'll finish higher in the League than last year with more points. So he's improved them.

That's why I think he could improve the Barcodes if he went there.

He would, in many respects he's exactly what they need, someone who won't give a shit about the "sexy football" fans and will be more concentrated on giving them stability and a back bone.

Shouldn't their next manager be French? 🙄 Besides, with their recruitment strategy/control and the influential Graham Carr there, why would Rafa want to go there?

Get rid of the dead wood, play a few youngsters, get a few more points than Pardew, talk crap to the media, cuddle everyone...You'll be impressed, Hansern, me old mate.

I think you're right mate. I'll be very impressed the day Rafa cuddles players and other managers.

I know. Give him a B. I'm sure most people think Rodgers will have achieved at least as much as Benitez has by the time he's 50, so hopeless old Rafa certainly deserved the derision you displayed towards him.

Anyone else thinks 'ol 'Arry will pop up at Newcastle if Pardew's sacked? Can't see Redknapp being too impressed with managing in the Championship.

He'd be even less impressed with living in Newcastle. So no.

If he tried to ask for a jellied eel & a saveloy up there they'd think it was an aquarium related request from a fancy hotel.

Well I think it's safe to say Rafa wouldn't have them in the relegation zone, so it's a no-brainer.

Although I don't see how Ashley's gonna be happy to pay out the remainder of Pardew's 8 year contract.

That 8 years contract was a bit dodgy wasn't it? I'm sure I read a few bits of gossip about there being clauses in it. Surely he wouldn't be getting paid for the entirety of it if they parted ways?

Binny will wade into this thread in a min and sort it out.

There was something about someone owing money to a casino owner or something, and somehow Pardew ended up getting a long contract out of it.

Looks moved by hearing YNWA alright. Almost crying is stretching it though.
Can understand that, he's experienced a lot of emotional times at Anfield.

In truth, even the hardest of hearts is touched by that. It's as close to beauty you'll ever see at a football ground (Last years 2012 Euro babe thread not included)
