Balotelli to Juve?

I'm not sure why anyone would want us to 'persist'. Every time he starts/comes on as a sub, I think 'this is it' he's going to score today, and yet it never happens. The difference in our control and results since going 'strikerless' is notable. We have a 3-2-6 record with Balo as against 10-6-4 without him, that's pretty damning, to say nothing of his zero PL goals tally.

At this stage, pushing for Top 4 and with an EL challenge on the horizon, we can't afford to 'persist', we need a more viable option.

It feels like Rodgers has long since decided that Mario has no future here.

I know it's been a hard season but I'm still a little surprised that we've not seen a little bit more effort to get something out of him. He's easily the most talented (fit) striker we have and he does seem to be trying when he gets onto the pitch.

It's impossible to know what's going on behind closed doors so perhaps there is a lot more to it than we see on the pitch but I hope that this isn't all politically motivated.

Given the situation we've managed to get ourselves in a 14M deal would be an absolute gift... which is exactly why it sounds unbelievable. Why would anyone give us that when we'd probably settle for half?

Quoted for truth.

I'd like to see Balotelli given a run in the 2 up top formation we played last season before we look at binning him off. He's not suited to a lone striker role, but may be marvellous in a 2 up top formation with sicknote.
Not sure why he'd want to go back to Italy after the grief he got there, unless he's kinda forced to go.

He's been up to his old tricks off the field, as well as up to bugger all on it, and that will more than outweigh any theoretical benefit we might get from keeping him around for the second half of the season. I really don't care if it's a loan, a sale or handing him over the counter at The Money Shop. He has to go, and quickly, though it may well not be to Juve as Marotta has apparently said they have no interest in him.
