Allegri said that he wanted to sign Balotelli on loan, with talk of £14m permanent option this summer.
The Times- Gary Jacob, Tony Barrett

Sounds like he's on his way out then.

Some chat apparently that we are going to bid for Benteke.
I think I would sooner keep Mario

@TonyBarretTimes: It's Gary's story. Think the story is that they'd be interested in taking him on loan.

Id help him pack.
I was quite happy we signed him not for football reasons but for all the batshit nuts stuff he does.
I was like 'This be great, he'll be hanging off the liverbird building in a tutu throwing down £50 notes'

NO! One mildly racist tweet and a lot of shite football.

He's worked harder than most will give him credit for, but he's about as unsuited to our playing style as you can possibly get.

I'd rather keep him until the end of the season at least. Get rid of Balotelli and we're stuck with Borini, Lambert and a one-legged Sturridge. If Balotelli went we'd need two strikers in, at least, that need to hit the ground running. We're not going to do that, so keep him around.

Plus, you just know we'd get shafted on that deal.

If you bring him in, then use him. Don't parade him on the bench. I'm tired of these media-driven larks. It's football, not an exercise in Baudrillard-ist imagism. If you want to get rid, get someone in first.

If this happens, it will not go down well with Juventus fans at all - nothing but hatred towards Mario.

Not sure why Mario would want to put himself in that situation.

Some of the most racist abuse he has copped in Italy has come from Juve fans.

It feels like Rodgers has long since decided that Mario has no future here.

I know it's been a hard season but I'm still a little surprised that we've not seen a little bit more effort to get something out of him. He's easily the most talented (fit) striker we have and he does seem to be trying when he gets onto the pitch.

It's impossible to know what's going on behind closed doors so perhaps there is a lot more to it than we see on the pitch but I hope that this isn't all politically motivated.

Given the situation we've managed to get ourselves in a 14M deal would be an absolute gift... which is exactly why it sounds unbelievable. Why would anyone give us that when we'd probably settle for half?

fuck that, you know what Juve are like...

They'll loan him then whinge about not being able to afford it in the summer. We'll end up with him back here with even fewer clubs interested.

However if there's some rock solid deal in place then fantastic.

He doesn't want to go to Italy. He wants to play in England. Stupid non story. No way he is leaving so fast.

This will be much more painful.
