Surely though, the ref should have stopped play as there was an extra ball on the field. A ball, not a balloon, as the balloon wouldn't have been strong enough to chance the direction of the ball.
Doesn't matter anyway, we still didn't do enough to win the game.

I think everyone who's complained about the loss has done so because of the manner by which it came about.
Did we do enough to win the game? No
Did we deserve to lose the game in the manner we did? No
BTW, I think bent's a total knob for celebrating the "goal" at all. I remember him diving to win a penalty against us (while he was at Charlton), apologizing to Dudek for diving, then scoring from the spot and celebrating afterward. He's got no class whatsoever.

I wonder what a ref has to do in order to get fired.
Take an impromptu poo in the centre circle? Erect a large net across the half way line? Park his car on the pitch to avoid paying a fee? Shout "next goal wins" when he sees it's getting dark?
