Im sure it was probably more to do with his attitude than his ability...
He strikes me as the kind of guy that would ALWAYS try fancy flicks and never uses straight forward passes.. He does have a swagger of arrogance around him - Not always a bad thing. However as a youth player trying to make the grade pissing people off probably isnt a good way to go..

Dunno if it was an attitude problem the lad thought he was ready to play first team football. He didn't get a chance and decided to leave. I've seen interviews with him after he left and he can't say anything negative about football in Liverpool, he loves the fans and Anfield but he wanted to play.

He was 18 though wasn't he? And he was demanding to be played in a team that already had Momo, Gerrard, Hamann, Xabi (I can't really remember but the midfield was a strong at the time, he had only been at the club for a season and was demanding first team football), so he was being an idiot by making first team demands.

You do have a point, but I think this falls into the age old discussion about having promising youth players and never giving them a taste of first team football. Some might argue that youth/reserve players must be patient but what has that brought us?
The likes of Spearing, Darby etc that are never going to be good enough it seems. These lads are now 20, 21?
I hate to say it but Everton seems to better than us at producing young talented players. Their players are thrown into the deep end when they're 17, 18 years old. Gosling, Rodwell, the nigerian lad etc.
