That season Hull were also in the premier league.

And better still we drew 0-0 at home to Stoke and 0-0 away to Villa.
This means we are 4 points better off this season than that.
4 points more that year and we would have won the league on Goal Difference.

THIS IS ON.

The team is progressing nicely ... a long way to go but as I said in a few posts this week when we had all this hysteria post Will.I.an signing for Chelsea we can still do well this year ... It's a young'ish, hungry team that has a chip on their shoulder and wants to fight for Mr. Rodgers.

For those that seen the game, it was clearly a game of 2 halves. For those that didn't, here is how it looks on the heat maps with further evidence on the number of passes

Look at how non existent our midfield is in the second half.

I'm glad having the majority of the possession stopped then from having more chances than us though, otherwise we would have been fucked. (Let's ignore the fact they had four times as many)

I abhor the notion of 'controlling the game', it's a nonsense that anybody can do it, never mind for 90 mins and its not the point of the game either.

In every game we will have periods of dominance, once we take advantage of it we don't need to worry about controlling things.

Youve posted that like someone has argued counter to it mate?
The site is in unison. We were fucking garbage second half.

I saw this game on TV - and yes I am very happy about the win, but please do not tell me you have doubts about this team of ours. Villa were totally lame in the first half, yet we passed the ball around with very little clear chances being created despite all that passing. Second half they pushed much harder and I felt that any other team who put same effort and we would crumble quite easily. The two 1-0 results so far do not inspire me - and some of you will say 'what the f*ck' but in truth we still don't seem to have a direct approach to our game which is much needed in this league - Rodgers seems to be doing what he did at Swansea, in terms of playing a nice game but if you look back when he was in charge the games he won were by very narrow margins and typically 1-0. I really doubt we will beat any of the top four this season, and I don't think there was much creativity we can expect from that midfield of ours - SG, and Lucas are effectively just two holding players now. I am seriously worried about this season, it is all TOO SLOW for me so far.

Oy Bellend.
Shut up.

it will be interesting if we can get this left mid/attacker . From what rodgers says it will push coutinho into a more central role . You would presume Sturridge and Suarez will also play so that means one of the three midfielders dropping out .

Whatever , something has to change , our midfield is horrible . And why is henderson still playing on the right ?

and yeah johnson was wank , same as last week . He normally doesn't bother me too much but he's done fuck all these 2 games .

Lucas is a holding midfielder who looks comfortable when we are attacking, and looks out of his depth when we are under attack...... That just about sums it up. We needed someone who could assertively shut their midfield down and get us move forward.... Neither Lucas nor Gerrard was up to it.

The sooner we bin Lucas from the first team, the higher we will finish in the league table.
