Yes but didn't they beat us 3-1 at home.
Yes. But we weren't playing them at home.

BR said he played deliberately deep to counteract Villa's pace, which kinda worked, but meant we had to endure a lot of attacks in our half.Beforehand I had that game panning out completely differently. I thought we'd dominate possession throughout, play lots of pretty football and get smashed on the break. Instead, we win ugly, and with a strategy that allowed Villa possession. It was downright horrible, and the tactics were backfiring somewhat, but I'm over the moon with that result and with match-winning contributions from Studge and Ming. We'll not play those sort of tactics against Manu. We're going to fuck them up.
Yeah but why would I analyze United or Chelsea? I dont care what they lack or where they need to strengthen.tbf, i think he's on to something. If manure or chelski got that result awat at villa, in the manner we did, we would be lauding them for grinding out a result when not playing top of their game and having one outstanding attacker who made the difference.

Those stats aren't really as bad as they first seem. 17 attempts and only 3 on target - that tells something of the quality of chances they got.
A few people have mentioned the fitness thing, and I cant see it at all. We just lost control of the football. I dont think fitness had anything to do with it.
Defensively, sure.
But on offence? 1 shot on target, that's pretty horrendous. But hey we won.
Like I said after the Stoke game, I'm not sure about our players fitness levels.
He was shite today. I dont think fitness has anything to do with it. I dont know why people are suggesting it. Like its a real thing. Like we wouldnt have trained and sorted our fitness out in summer. Its fucking retarded.More than half our team looked knackered. Especially Lucas.
Notice the mistakes he made, the lapses in concentration?
That is two games in a row where our second half performance was significantly poorer than the first half one.
In both games many of the players seemed to tire towards the end as well

Holy shit The Count agrees.
Gerrard / Lucas / Henderson
As I didn't watch the game, how good/bad were they?
I think there is something in the fitness thing. It will come with matches, but the movement was gone for a lot of players late in the second half.
