ASHES - 2015!

Nice lead, now the boys need to build on the score, 500 plus and then skittle the Aussies out. Plenty of time left

Sunday is a washout though. That was a crucial 1st hour and gives a bit of hope for a result.

Starc bowling a number of unplayable deliveries before lunch. I'd be a bit worried by that limp if I was an Aussie though.

Just watched the verdict on sky. What a pair of fucking tits Warner and Lyons were. There is always an element of gamesmanship involved with cricket and that's fair enough. Sadly for the Aussies they seem to have failed dismally. They just looked like dickheads trying to wind up Stokes. I hope he tears them a new one tomorrow.

Nothing really @737Max. School boy stuff. Stopping Stokes from doing his normal thing between overs while he's at the crease. Both of them getting in his way. Under his nose and basically acting like dickheads. Stokes didn't care he just stood his ground and waited for them to fuck off. Nasser picked up on it during commentary. They did it a few times - Obviously thinking they can wind him up. They looked stupid believe me.

Lyons interview with Wardy at the end of the days play wasn't very cool either. He came across as a moody tit to me. Not really surprising given the days play.

Well Warner's got form for being a prick so no surprises there. Lyons can get to fuck as well.

Nice to see Stokes didn't get wound up about it. He's becoming a more mature player. He'll just let his cricket do the talking.

He (Stokes) got props from the verdict team with how he handled it. Lyons and Warner got basically laughed at. The Indian guy who is the neutral (Marcus North and Bob Willis representing the other sides) called it 'pathetic' - Marcus North just looked embarrassed by it all. Ha! Expect Warner and Lyons to get a fresh volley of abuse from the crowd for it though tomorrow as the twitter stuff started flying in.

It really wasn't anything though. Just ill thought out mind games that made them look silly.

When they start to resort to that kind of crap you know they're in trouble. I think today is going to be tough if the Aussies have any sense and are a bit more circumspect.

That's a hell of a run chase though. Normally I'd be a bit reticent to start celebrating but with these conditions, the form of the bowlers and the variable bounce - I just can't see how the Aussies can escape this one.

Well, I know in my heart of hearts you are right, but being the regular English ( and LFC fan! ) pessimist expecting disaster and catastrophe around every corner I won't believe it until we have done it!

Having said that if we bowl as superbly disciplined as yesterday its going to be very tough for the Aussies. I have been really impressed by Wood, it would seem at last we have found a really good bowler who gives an added dimension to the bowling. Thursday nights spell was the best I have seen Ben Stokes bowl - really quick and remorselessly accurate. I just hope we can do it again today.

What a spawny innings from Warner, he played and missed 6 times from his first 16 balls ! and I make it 10 times in his innings so far, surely he can't last too long?

RA - it's Nathan Lyon, not Lyons.

He's been around for a while you know.

Anyway, Aussies 90 odd for 1. Smith and Warner looking comfortable.

Those will be famous last words very soon though.

I'm quite looking forward to Lyon coming in to bat. I rather fancy Cook to throw the ball to Stokes, and we'll soon see if the wee twerp has quite so much to say for himself with the ball flying up by his throat.
