From that point onwards Aldo began to get selected less often in favour of Rushy, despite the fact that Aldo was at his peak and Rushy clearly wasn't any more. Then when Sociedad came in for Aldo we encouraged him to go. He said as much in an interview shortly after he went to Spain, in which his bewilderment at leaving was (literally) painfully clear. There was no way his form at the time merited such treatment, but his card was marked the minute he replied to Bob Paisley's previous remarks criticising the signing. Not Paisley's finest hour (or the club's) by any means IMHO.

Yeah a draw would be ideal. I thought Utd would come back, but I had hoped it wouldn't be that early.
