Arsenal v Liverpool - Match Thread

TAA, bar a lovely free kick against Palace, has forgotten how to cross or take quality dead balls since the re-start.

We really shouldn't have lost today.

I'm not sure if I should be worried or not ...

Klopp is livid.
He's been livid a few times now but it doesn't seem to matter.
Starting to think we need new blood in this team. Someone who can help spark our players.
Origi doesn't cut it and neither does Ox.
Call it premature but teams seem to have learned how to play against us, except Palace (for obvious reasons).

Agreed

That's ruined my day. Which is something this Liverpool team hasn't done in so long, I can't remember the last time it happened.

Brutal stuff. Hope Klopp runs the legs off them before the chavs match.
I can. It's happened a lot since we came back after the lockdown.

W3 D2 L2.

Fucking awful. I'm so pissed off, we should have stuffed that points record so far up City's arse they'd never have found it.

Yep ,it's a missed opportunity to smash the points record.

I hope matches like this irrespective of hendo being out prove to klopp that we need more/better in the middle of the park

Dont think there is much to be worried about. We’ve won the league and switched off, it happens. But it also shows that we need some quality on the bench and that Shaq and Origi needs an upgrade.

FSG need to wake the fuck up. It's as clear as day that this team (and please don't tell me it's because we've won the PL or because of the break) this team has been trying, and failing, to break teams down. It's always been their one weakness and it seems to be getting worse. We needed new blood and not getting Werner at a knock-down price was criminal, you could easily see him slotting perfectly into this team.

Nah. All the games until now, I could explain away... City, we saw coming a mile away (and we weren't as bad at the halftime score suggested). Everton away is ALWAYS fucking brutal. And Burnley was just 'that game' against 'that keeper'.

Today was different. Or maybe indifferent. Which is unforgivable.

Those Thiago rumours aren't going away. I read Der Spiegl (OK yeah I know) said that Bayern and Liverpool were £20m apart on valuation (40-20).

That's a different excuse for each match. Sorry but that really doesn't fly. This game out of all could be excused (2 extremely rare errors from super reliable players and 24-3 shots). We have stopped winning matches we should have won by simply not putting enough of the good chances away (and not creating enough either).

Garbage. We're coasting and unable to change games from the bench. Weve had an unbelievable season, but christ we need freshening up. Origi, Lovren, Shaqiri, Lallana and a few others could conceivably leave, we need some quality depth now.
I agree, but here's the thing... Would you buy and of them?

Your last sentence makes no sense - we were rarely blowing out teams when we won most of our games this year. We were winning because we got 1-2 goals and shut teams out. We didn't need to break anyone down ...

We've also just had little luck in the final 1/3 - how many goals should Mane have scored against City? How many should Curtis Jones have scored against Burnely? etc That means we're doing the right things overall

I think we're ok - but oddly enough, it seems a crowd would help our team.

Explanation, not excuse. Regardless, we see things differently... Today's first half display disgusted me. Those other games didn't. That's the difference for me.

We switched off before we won the league, our form has been trailing off since Feb. Who was the last decent team we beat? Wolves? Thats a long time ago. Its become clear this team needs freshening up, we have no competition for places upfront and fullback. That leads to complacency and fatigue

Don't really care about the points record. But not happy at the recent performances. And don't forget we were poor in the couple of games before lockdown. We need a creative midfielder. Not saying coutinho but similar. Also need cover for Robbo.

First and foremost we need a backup for Firmino.

Because Minamino isn‘t and Origi neither.

It makes perfect sense .. we are not taking our chances and we are not making enough of them. A lot of wild shots and half-arsed attempts but where have all the golden chances gone (even when we missed them) ? And your examples just go on to highlight it.

We should be finishing on a high, so players are looking at us ahead of next season. Instead of teams picking us off and worries kicking in about being found out, etc.
