This is how it should work, but how FSG seem not able to grasp it. If your first choice XI are sleepwalking around like this, then you threaten to replace them with the reserves - who in this case are happy-clappy young wannabes with very promising futures but not real threats to the first choicers - and THEN you sign serious challengers to shake up the first XI. You don't just say, 'Wow, that was great, same again, please'. It just doesn't work like that.
These players also need to be told that their celebrations will seem really muted if they've just been thumped by one or two or even three of their challengers, all of whom have big new recruits set to come in. Wake up LFC.
If anyone doesn't think these half dropped a few percent since winning it they've lost the plot.
