Rossiter looked like a young Gerrard as he came on.
Big eyebrows, shaven head, skinny as fuck.

Stevie was also a few yards behind play & guilty of following the ball around, as Rossiter did last night.

Hopefully he'll have a chance to prove himself from the start in some cup games or similar.

Wenger's getting some flack today. Gary Neville is bang on about his arrogance. I've said this for years, I think he saw United win with kids and he became so focused on doing the same, that's he's gone too long without adding invaluable experience to his side. You can argue he has started to, but it's too little too late, look at last night's partnership in central defense for instance. You can have all the technicians you want, but they really needed players in the engine rooms last night, players like Skrtel, Milner and Lucas. He should have replaced the likes of Pires, Petit, Vieira and Ljungberg. Instead he's tried to replicate it with kid after kid, or a player equally likely to go missing and become a passenger when games need grabbing by the scruff of the neck. Exactly the sort of trap we started to slip into last season.

What we have done is identify a need for a backbone, in Milner and Benteke we've added resilience through the middle, while Gomez and Clyne both inadvertently strengthen the middle of the backline with their intelligence and instinct to defend first and foremost. It's early days but I'm glad we haven't fallen back into stubborn decisions that have cost us previously with Rodgers and under the likes of Ged and Rafa.

I think it's a bit early to be gloating about / praising the success of our transfer strategy. There are encouraging signs but we've all been here before only to be cursing the state of play at the end of the season. Let's see how it goes.

As for Wenger, I think the kids thing has been overstated for a long time now. Last night they started the game with two 20 year olds. The rest of the team were 24 plus. I believe they lost both Mertesacker and Koscielny just before the game so they'd have normally had even more 'experience'.

Wenger does have a blind spot with the defensive side of things though, yeah. They've need a CB, DM and a striker for some time now but who knows what's going on behind the scenes.

Like I said at the end Keni, it's early days. I'm not gloating, while it's difficult to go off three games for us, it's fairly easy to judge Arsenal on the same points, they've fucked up on it for years.

Dodgy with the air punch in the end, but otherwise, pretty decent showing from Mig. Benteke = goalkick accuracy improvement. Without Benteke, Mignolet's long ball passing accuracy % has been in the 30's in the past 2 seasons. This season so far, almost 50%.

Can anyone point me towards a highlights video? I couldn't tell if a player was on the halfway line or in the 6 yard box from my seat! haha

One or more of these should work:

I've been quite impressed with what Moreno has had to offer off the bench.

He seems quite suited to a more advanced role & offers great pace off.

Quite enjoy his willingness to run direct with the ball.

Would love to see him given more chances off the bench.
