Arsenal Post match thread

What we need to do now, quickly, is to start scoring and making the most of our advantages. Quite a few teams, on their day and with Arsenal's weakened defence, could have got a draw, or better, tonight. That's just a fact. We don't have much time to settle and bed our new players in. We need to get sharper and take our chances. Good result, good effort, but let's keep it real: we missed a chance tonight and we have to improve.

On a trivial point: Martin Tyler has completely lost the ability to commentate properly. He was waffling non-stop from the kick off, in spite of the fact it was a lively and interesting game.

Martin Tyler is irritating. He makes snidey comments about us, and of course with Alan Smith alongside him the commentary appeared a bit Arsenal biased. Tyler kept promising us that Arsenal were going to "flick the switch" but that didn't seem to happen.

Yep. I glibly mentioned that he needs to stop talking cos he's no good at it.

That was after he waffled on for a few minutes trying to come up with a witty phrase about arsenal chasing the game & failing miserably, all the while the ball being pinged round at pace with loads of legitimate talking points.

Brilliant from Gomez and Countino. Ok from Benteke. Meh from Milner and Firmino. I'll take the 5th on Lovren (It looked like a boss performance though) 0-0 at the Emirates. Fuck yeah!

3 games no goals conceded......

Mignolet was very good.
Clyne was solid.
Centre halves were both very good.
Gomez was a fucking boss.
Lucas was excellent first half, faded second half. We should hold on to him.
Can was hit and miss. He takes way too much on the ball.
I'm gay for coutinho.
Firmino will take time to settle but showed decent touches and should have had an assist with a great cross.
Benteke was very good at times and lacked support at other times. Sometimes I wish he'd close down quicker.
Ibe was awful.
Rossiter made no mistakes and made an interception on the edge of our box. That'll do.
Moreno was ok. Great anticipation for the counter attack, but he had 2 good options and one bad one and he managed to go for that. If he slipped a pass right we had a great chance to win the game. Between him and gomez we have good options at full back.

Good performance that overall.

Defensively we seem a lot tighter this year, of course that's been massively helped by both Clyne and Gomez.

Unfortunately Can doesn't seem like the player I thought he might be. He's just not that good with his decision making once he gets forward and looks rather clunky at times.

Lucas looks like he's off. Rodgers did say before the game he was his best DM and to let him go would surely mean a replacement? Unless he see's Rossiter as that player!

Meh from Milner? He lost the ball once or twice but I thought he was very good.

That first half was probably the best half I can remember us playing away to Arsenal in many years– since Fowler's exploits there. We should have been three up at half time. Easily Rodgers best tactics away to a top side too. Gomez is ridiculously good. Was worried about him beforehand, but he was amazing.

Another thought, either we get into the champions league this season, or Coutinho is going to Spain for £40million.

Good performance for sure. Still don't think we look solid right at the back, despite the clean sheets. Annoyed tekkers didn't finish that chance, that's twice now in a week he should bury it. Good result though

It's commentating by numbers eh 85th minute, scores are level..."will there be winner in this league of late goals?"

He's 19. He'll obviously have good and bad games. No point in thinking otherwise re Ibe.
Needs games and will develop further during the season.

Bentake should have scored his chance.

A top class striker would have chipped that chance and not give the keeper a chance.

Great team performance, looked much more solid.

Milner was great. Lost the ball a few times more than usual but he was outstanding aside from that, he continually gave the full backs an outlet whilst covering the centre mid position throughout.

@SamWallaceIndy: Brendan Rodgers on Ramsey disallowed goal: 'I have seen a replay, his shirt looks offside ... great decision by the linesman'

Wenger will be choking on his tie when he reads that. What a bitter cunt he is, that post match interview was just bile, angry, bitter, wrinkled twisted words from a French cunt.

One legit goal in three really

He should have but it was one of those freak misses/saves. Most players would have just slotted.

Well that's you and PeterHague so forgive me if I beg to differ!

More than welcome to differ. But think some of you are forgetting his performances last season. Maybe he's improved, maybe not. I'll stay in the latter camp for now

If O'Driscoll is responsible for the defensive coaching he surley deserves a bit of praise.
