Kenny was fired for a myriad of reasons (I think) ... They obviously felt pressurized into hiring him, and the gaffes the club made after such a successful formula was developed in the 2nd half run was the reason Kenny was let go. Poor signing, a lack of direction (whether right or wrong) etc ... Rodgers seems to have x (3?) years to work with to take us on an upward curve (dunno how upward obviously). They are trying to do with thim what they did with the Red Sox which is build it intelligently with smart pick ups etc ... I hope they're as successful, and when they reach the peak, they don't make the same mistakes they made with the Bo Sox.

I'll be happy if I see signs of him making progress with the defensive issues we have. Some good signs going forward. Sort some of the bollocks at the back out and top 6 finish and i'll see that as small signs of something better. If however we continue to defend like cunts until the end of the season I'd be rather annoyed!!

I don't know how the issues will be solved exactly, but any progress for me is good ... There's a lack of stability with the club due to what was let go in the summer (quite a few leaders) and it's a young squad making stupid mistakes because of things that can hopefully be coached out of them. That will take time, and tbh, I have it ... I wasn't expecting something overnight, but in 3 days ... 😉

Buy 6 DM's in the summer and a couple of center backs and we'll be back to where we were a fee years ago.

Challenging for the top 4. Yay.

Well why the fuck didn't you tell the rest if us. I could have gone out or something instead of sitting through that bollocks.
Well I did mention I was concerned but you were obviously too busy being hyperbolic to notice.

Next give me a little more warning. Hyperbolic mode kicks in during game time and turn to giant king-kong thunderous hyperbollocks mode if we are playing shit.

We're 7 points off 4th place with 45 points left to play for. Anyone giving up on fourth at this point is a shithouse.

(I reserve the right to adjust my position in a fortnight's time.)

No one is giving up if by giving up you mean let's all be unrealistic and 'wish realy really' hard that we make it. We have been spanked by Villa, Stoke and shafted by a team which cost lest than my 20p bic pen in the last month or so, conceding 9 goals.

We are decent going forward but uber inconsistent at the back and weak in midfield. If we make 4th ahead of Everton Spurs and Arsenal it will be a miracle.

Reina
Enrique/Wisdom
Agger
Skrtel
Johnson

Lucas
Gerrard
Henderson

Downing
Sturridge
Suarez

The only other player with a sniff for me is Suso instead of Downing but in reality that would be my first and ONLY team choice right now.

That's not a bad shout actually.

I don't really like Agger at FB, but if it allows Glenjo to be on his natural side it does an awful lot to restoring balance to the side.

Arsenal are just as crap as us... Somehow they tore us apart at Anfield but that's one of their best performances this season and one of our worst.

At this point I haven't got a clue how this will go. I reckon it will be somewhere on the spectrum between 4-0 to them and 3-1 to us. I wonder what odds I can get on such a prediction?

If we played the same team we did against Oldham, we would beat arse.

They are soft center like us.

That said is Arteta still out as they badly miss him?

Arsenal have had an extra days rest, and in fact didnt make the idiotic move of picking their best players on the weekend. Unfortunately it looks likely we will lose the game in the last 20mins.

Wisdom would be there for the taking against these, I'm sure they'll look to exploit his problems when he gets put on the back foot, so we have a tricky fullback dilemma. I wouldn't be surprised to see Downing/Hendo revert to fullback, not that it will solve anything like.

----------------Reina--------------
Johnson-Carra-Skrtel--Agger
---------Hendo---Lucas---------
---------------Gerrard------------
-Downing---Suarez--Sturridge

Exactly that but with Gerrard deeper than Henderson.

Enrique is back in full training today. If he's ready I'd swap him with Wisdom and put GlenJo back on the right

Well that changes my mind. Didn't realise he was back in trainer.

Ok then. The team against Norwich, but Reina for Jones, GJ on the right and Enrique on the left. Assuming he's match fit.
