I wonder what Rodgers picked up from mourinho. One is a beast and won the CL twice in setting his teams defesively, while the other is doing the excact opposite!!!

Yep. That beast has one of the most expensive and with the highest quality players ever gathered into the most prestigious clubs in world football, yet only managed to win the La Liga once in 3 years failing miserably twice so far in the CL.
That same beast who had top quality (and money) squads at Chelsea and at Inter.

Mourinho has a PR machine working for him hailing him as the greastest ever.
Sure he's won them all, but had far better conditions than Rodgers.
Rodgers is 10 years younger and at his first major club. Let's give him some more time before judging. He may well never get to the level of success Mourinho has enjoyed, but it's far too early for any comparisons.

I didn''t compare them, you did.

Said one was massively better than the other as 28-year-olds which is quite obviously wrong.

It's always extremely difficult to compare players decades apart and even more so as they are quite different types. I loved Sami, but he also made mistakes now and then, and also had some areas where he wanted to improve.

I take your point about comparing players from different eras, and with different styles of play. However, that only becomes a problem when you're comparing players of a similar calibre. That obviously isn't the case here, because Sami is in a different league to Agger, as any (sane) Liverpool fan would attest to.

Sammi was an 8.5 almost every week while Agger would be a 5 or 6 most weeks with the odd 9 rating thrown in.

Any of Agger, Skrtel or Coates would look immeasurably better alongside an in his prime Hyppia. We lack a dominant centreback with leadership. The only one we have is Carragher, who is well past his best and was never great in the air anyway.

I am not judging. Just find it strange that their approach is so different. That way of pressing as a unit and be very difficult to break down has been Mourinhos trademark. And he won CL with Porto when he was at Rodgers age. A bit more impressive than being hammered by Oldham. But by all means, let us pretend that the Norwich performance is the standard and the rest is exceptions.

But was it piss poor? If he got a foot to it, people would be moaning about how he should have caught and held it. He can't win.
Well, I think we can all agree he did himself no favours with that abysmal decision for their 2nd goal today.
