So far Aquilani hasn't run, tackled, pressed or made things happen. He's played a lot of 1-2s that often get the original player into trouble, and a lot of long, speculative passes to no-one in particular. I was at Alonso's debut and it though we lost, he shone. Alberto looked bemused against Reading, and he didn't appear to have the game intelligence we need. Alonso was practically Rafa's first signing, it is looking like selling him was the beginning of the end for Benitez. I would rather have Scott Parker than Alberto Aquilani right now. Though I hope I am proved wrong.
