Andy Carroll

He is looking like being one of the worst signings we have ever made, he really is.

Blame Kenny for the signing if you like, that is fair enough, but blaming Kenny for somehow making him shit seems a little harsh.

It seems that the guy gets criticised for always playing his signings on one hand but on the other hand also criticised when he doesn't play his signings, even when they are largely ineffective, dive, moan and publicly tell the manager to fuck off

Quite right. The idea that he should have been kept on to save him from the boo boys is wrong IMHO. If he'd played better he would have saved himself. He seems to have mental age of about 11. I've always been willing him to succeed but I'm pretty sick of him now.

If you look at Andy Carroll as a business asset that you want to protect then he should have stayed on the pitch.

If you see him as a shameful gobshite who showed his true colours in front of everyone who's ever supported him yesterday then he got what he deserved.

As ive said before, I dont really want anyone sold in summer. I want these decent players we signed last summer to be squad options. I would like us to sign a couple of world class players for next season so that these players like Henderson and Carroll and Shelvey and Coates can progress from the bench over the course of the year as they age and mature, and players like Downing and Adam can provide back up and options for our best 11.
We have a good squad but a weak first 11. We need to focus on genuine first team players for next season.
In my opinion we arent THAT broken.
Reina
Enrique (im not mad keen but hes ok)
Agger
Skrtel
Johnson
Lucas
Gerrard
---------
--------- (personally this would be Maxi for me but I cant see that happening)
Suarez
---------

Bench - Carroll, Doni, Adam, Downing, Coates, Kelly, Kuyt.

Its that creative fulcrum and talent to open up and own games that we lack. And of course a finisher.
I know its easier said than done (or relies on Comolli actually justifying his existence) and going to be expensive but the WORST thing we can do (imo and ive repeated it a few times so sorry if you are bored of it) is ship out Carroll, Henderson, Adam, Downing, Kuyt, Spearing, Carragher etc and spend all the proceeds replacing them with squad players.
Its the same thing we have been doing for fucking decades and im sick of it. If you want a 5 year plan, you build on what you have you dont rip the footings out and start again every season.
That said, i dont believe that will happen. We'll fuck it up. We always do.

"Andy Carroll is a player that needs to have a game plan that’s going to work for him,” said Pardew. “Liverpool struggle to find that with the players they have.
“I felt for Andy. He’s a terrific lad having a tough year, but he’ll come back. When we had him here we were probably a little bit more direct than we are now. He was magnificent for us and he will be again. ”

[Don't go spoiling that last sentence before all of us dare to dream for a moment or two]

Im not sure building a team round a striker with a 9% success ratio who wont even shoot when he has an open goal to aim at is the answer.
I wanted us to sign Andy Carroll. I was a fucking idiot.

I bet he wouldn't have 'fallen over' had the ball been near his left foot instead of his right. It's outrageous these days that professional players can't even work on their weaker foot so that they can slide a ball into the goal rather than collapse in a heap.

I'm taking the last sentence to mean Carroll is going back to Newcastle. And nobody is going to ruin that for me until the transfer window closes at the end of the summer and he hasn't gone.

I've watched that 6 times now (didn't watch the game) & I have no idea whether it was a dive or he tripped. I guess only he knows.

It's irrelevant TBH, the only fact that matters is that he didn't score from that position, which is appalling.

I still think he needs at least another season, as does Kenny, but I suspect that I'm in the extremely small minority.
I'm in your camp

I'm in there with ya.

I'm with you just FFF, just. I want to believe it was just extremely clumsy footing on his behalf, which wouldn't surprise me considering he has the grace of an elephant, and I suppose in his favour there was no appeal or anything from him, still I'm stretching my faith here.

I can't see how anyone can watch the replay of it and not see that he dived. It's so blindingly obvious.

He didn't appeal because he knew it was a shit dive.

He was never thinking about scoring a goal. He expected contact with the keeper and he just fell over weakly when he didn't get it, which is such a waste because he did everything else perfectly up until that point. He's a bit like Charlie Adam, there's a bit of talent there, but he doesn't have the mentality to ever get the best out of it.

The sooner we bomb him back to the Geordies, the better.

Yesterday a few Geordies I know were telling me yesterday that he's going back for 10M

It was the best part of my day, so I'm clinging onto it no matter what.

So far this season Andy Carroll proved that he can't run, score goals or even dive properly. What type of striker does that make him?

I bet if he cuts that ponytail he'll start scoring goals!

The funny(?) thing is that had he stayed on his fucking feet and rolled it into the empty net, it would have been one of the fucking best goals I've seen in quite some time. Strength, brute fucking strength, a charging run, a nutmeg, touch of pace, and some skill, all in front of a crowd baying for his blood. He was within inches and nanoseconds of having every single one of us going 'where in the name of good fuck did that bit of football sex come from you sexy big cunt!'

But he didn't. He decided to fall over. Like a big pillock.

I think it's been clear for a long time that he was never magically going to transform into some kind of devastating forward. He doesn't appear to have a genuine appetite for success or any kind of sincere work ethic.

Even though it's been over a year since we bought him, I'm still totally bemused by the whole thing. What's more, I can't figure out who will buy him off us should we choose to get rid. It feels like we're saddled with him for the long haul.

What a crock of shit. It was a clear and laughable and inexplicable dive and I hope he never plays for us again the fucking pussy. And Kenny was a super cunt for defending him on TV afterwards.
'Sometimes we do this thing where Diao eats the grass'
Fucking ALL of em are pricks.

You're looking at it like from the point of view of a footballer. I'm just trying to explain the mechanics of what happened.

Carroll after he jumps, is travelling through the air at a relatively high velocity. Then as he lands, well imagine for yourself how you would land... you'd have to land in your stride and carry on running forward. The exact same scenario would be if you jump up on the spot and land on a treadmill (in this case the ground is moving backwards, whilst you are stationary... but relativistically the mechanics are the same). So in that case what happens? Correct, you fall flat on your face.

To keep his balance, Carroll had to land on his right foot, then immediately push forward of it... so his right foot is planted and the rest of his body goes ahead of it, continuing to run. What Carroll actually did was try to kick the ball with his right foot, in other words, his right foot was moving fowards ahead of his body. This is the exact opposite of how to land. It's exactly like landing on a treadmill without running... your face hits the floor.

Whatever kind of cunt he may be, it is just not physically possible for him to have stayed on his feet after he decided to kick the ball out from under him.
