Juventus are actively pushing Liverpool to buy striker Amauri next month.

La Stampa says Juve GM Beppe Marotta wants to cash in on the centre-forward to fund a bid for Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino.

Amauri is returning to full fitness and reluctant to leave Turin.

"I know if I am given my chance, I will prove myself here," he has confided to friends.

Juve have been in regular contact with Liverpool over Alberto Aquilani and their interest in Glen Johnson. Marotta is hoping Liverpool make a bid of around £8 million for Amauri, who would be a good foil for Fernando Torres in the Reds attack.

(I may be wrong in the translation of details >_&lt😉 In the original article, it mentioned that the stumbling block for any move will be his wages - apparently 80k/wk and he's contracted to Juve till 2014. This coupled with his lack of interest in a move away from Juve could make it different for them to move him on.

Juve have been chasing Gilardino for a few weeks now.

Gilardino is has not been happy since Cesare Prandelli left.

Montolivo, Jovetic, Gilardino will all be moving on soon as the club are failing to match their ambitions.

As for Amauri ... he's a hard worker, physically capable - but he's more suited to playing for a club with less pressure to produce results.

He fails to inspire when playing.

Unbelievable to see him get a run for Italy instead of someone like Fabrizio Miccoli & Guiseppe Rossi

No Italians anyway please, even if they are good enough in Italy.

He's not really Italian

Oops, quite right - forgot about that.

Still don't want him Wouldn't have got near the Italian squad in days gone by.

How's Jovetic done this season? How much would he cost?
[/quote]

Was just about to ask about him. He would be much more work it than Amauri, I even think he could be Torres' support striker, well if Hodgson wasn't in charge of tactics that is.

Jovetic.... that's a familar name...was he the bloke Benitez wanted to sign along with Aquilani from the Alonso cash?

Yes, probably because he was excellent for Fiorentina against us

apparently we wanted him before he signed for Forientina...

Just read the article in Italian. It's the classic "I have to write something so my article will be about nothing" piece.

Qualche segnale è arrivato dalla Premier League, compreso il Liverpool.

Trans: there has been some interest from the PL, including us.

Probably just made-up bollocks

He's been out injured all season, suffered a serious a knee injury in pre-season and was ruled out for 6 months - so I'd say another 2-3 months before he's back to full fitness.

Would he cost much?

Let's just say Fiorentina won't consider anything less than 20-25M.

Ripped us to shreds.

I couldn't believe Rafa chose to play Fabio Aurelio as a defensive midfielder against Jovetic.

He reminds me of Baggio - and what wasn't to love about the way Baggio played!

We should actively push Juve to sign Poulsen and Konchesky seeing as they are so intent in peddling their shite to us

Would love Jovetic at Anfield. Fantastic player. If Juve get Gilardino they are putting together a decent team again. Need a few defenders, but its looking good.

The Italian league has taken a few steps forward this season in terms of quality
