Liverpool have made an enquiry to Manchester City for Emmanuel Adebayor, skysports.com understands.

The Togolese star is one of a number of City players who have been linked with a move this January.

The former Arsenal striker is far from being first choice under Roberto Mancini and the imminent arrival of Edin Dzeko will push him further down the pecking order.

Now a host of clubs are making contact with City to register their interest in taking the 26-year-old.

And skysports.com understands that Liverpool are the latest club to express an interest.

However, they are not the only club looking at Adebayor, with Tottenham, West Ham and even Real Madrid linked with a move.

Liverpool would currently only be in the market to take Adebayor on loan given his wages and possible fee, with City unlikely to accept a cut-price deal for a player they paid over £25million for just 18 months ago.

But should City allow him to move on loan, then the Anfield club would hope to be in pole position to land him.

Wonderful foil for Torres.. Even if he's a bit insane.. I didn't realise he was still only 26!

46 goals in 104 appearances for Arsenal and 15 in 34 for City... Very respectable goal return!

Why should they loan him out?

Anyway, if Real and Tottenham are in for him then we're most likely out.

He is trouble and so would only take him on loan to try and salvage something from this wreck of a season

City boys in training bust-up
Tuesday, 4 January 2011 16:46

Manchester City have once again found themselves in the uncomfortable position of having to play down a training ground fracas.

The latest came as Roberto Mancini's side were completing preparations for Wednesday's crucial trip to Arsenal and involved former Gunners team-mates Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure.

As so often, the flashpoint was a tackle, to which Adebayor is thought to have reacted.

Pictures of half a dozen team-mates moving in to quell the set-to were circulated on the internet, forcing City officials to insist there was no major issue and the matter had quickly been sorted.

Quite possibly, City are correct in their assertion that perception of discontent is someway short of reality.

However, the fact remains, that the club's Carrington training complex is accessible through public bridleways and therefore can be filmed every day thus making scenes like this one, which the club insist happens at all rival outfits on a regular basis, are viewed by a far greater audience than would normally be the case.

It is only a month since Mario Balotelli and Jerome Boateng had to be separated in similar fashion, while this season City also gained unwanted headlines for a prank involving Nigel de Jong.

It is unlikely to affect Mancini's team selection though and Adebayor was unlikely to be involved against his former club anyway as he seems set to end his unhappy spell at Eastlands during the current transfer window.

And Mancini may also claim that no matter what the pictures may indicate morale within the City camp is good, a fact emphasised by City's current position of second in the Premier League, trailing leaders Manchester United only on goal difference.

I'd love him on loan. If we are going to play 4-4-2, Adebayor and Torres would be fucking immense!

He's a bellend though, no doubt.

Hmmmm....

Check us out, hanging around the Arab Top Table, bowing, begging and scraping for short-term cast-offs who everyone fucking despises anyway, from a footballing joke of a club.

Football's great these days.

Fuck off Shitty, fuck off Sheik Cuntface and your shitty oil money, fuck off Gary Cook (and get AIDS) and fuck off Adebayor, with your stupid hair, face and absurd goal celebrations.

I'd hate it if we signed him, for all the above reasons, and so should every LFC fan.

Elia is a left winger isn't he? At least every clip I've seen of him is on the left hand side.
[/quote]

He's right footed so if we sign him I don't think we should make the same mistake that we've been doing with babel.

I wish Citeh had let the two of them slug it out. Toure's hard as nails and Adebayor might have got taught a much-needed lesson, especially with Toure's bro around to pile in as well..

From what I've seen, the reason he's on the left, is because he beats people with his pace on his left, and can actually use skill when trying to beat them on his right. Giving him two options of beating a player. If you play him on the right, he can only beat them on one side. He's terribly one footed. Of course he won't be able to get to the goal line and whip in crosses, but sure we haven't had a player doing that in years, so no big loss. I've no idea if he's actually capable of doing that anyway. Unless someone can provide a few clips?

He's a total cunt that scores goals. A loan deal is perfect. He can come into the team and help us up the table and then fuck off at the end of the season so we don't have to look at him anymore.

We got Anelka as PSG cast off after he fell out with their boss. I don't care where our players come from, as long as they help us.

Its like when we got Anelka, he came with issuse and was well liked here by everyone bar Ged.

I don't give a fuck who's table we are getting scraps off, once we improve we will do quite well.

We just have to get to the new rule stage in 2012 is it? Where clubs are looked at on thier income? Once we are there, WE are the big boys again, playing on an even keel and will show all the Russian and Arab Sugar Daddies what class is all about.

If we are still in the Prem and Roy hasn't slagged off any more of our fan base and alienated them. He's the Prems version of Prince Phillip

Yeah agreed Bren, can't believe how they have managed to get so many twats into one squad.

They're about to join Utd at the top of the league in twatishiness.

If he's right footed he'll have no problem playing on the right wing then.

Honest question....why can't have the same two options on the right? I don't get it. Somebody educate me please. I feel a bit like i have flipped two pages at once.
