Accommodating Gerrard – The conundrum facing Brendan Rogers

He'll play in the midfield 3. Suggesting he plays as one of the wide men in a front 3 just tells me you've no idea how a 4-3-3 works.

I'll not tell you what your post suggests to me about yourself.

suarez------------?--------Borini

Allen-----------------------Lucas-------------------Gerrard

Jose Glenjo
Agger Skrtel

Pepe Reina

I think the 4-3-3 will be set up like this the question remains if Carroll will be the striker with Suarez and Borini interchanging positions regularly during the game.

I dont see how this can be a problem.

We are talking about Steven Gerrard, right? One of the most versatile and well rounded players to pull a shirt for us?

Im sure he can adopt to any system that Rogers can think off... He has a touch, technique, vision and passing and we think we have to "accomodate" him in our new exciting system?

Im starting to have doubts about how exciting the new system of play Rogers is going to bring, if thats the case....

I can't see him playing on the right. Of course he 'can' do it, but he's getting on a bit these days, and despite the fact that he'll provide a good delivery, he doesn't have the qualities that WE need outwide. If Borini is playing, it'll be Borini on the right, Suarez in the middle and whoever on the left. If we need to be signing someone, it has to be someone who can play in that role, on the left, we've lacked someone of real quality there who can play week in, week out for fucking years.

Gerrard will play in the midfield three, and rightly so. If we had players of other qualities in the side, like a Silva in the middle of the park or a speedy, tricky wide player then we could get away with it, as it is...

I believe Borini scored 5 goals in 7 games for Roma from the LWF forward role last season. It might just be worth it playing him there.
