30 million pound Sterling bid rejected - new bid made

I'd worry about any add ons with raheem when going to a top team.

I'd not be surprised if none of the add ons were actually activated due to lack of starts or appearances or whatever

I imagine we'll accept an offer around this price point though

I can't see the owners saying 50m & then accepting 35m.

It's too much of a climbdown, you can't accept 30% less than you wanted & expect to have your player valuations taken seriously ever again.

I reckon it'll be more like 40m with add ons to take the headline figure much closer to the 50m, despite many of those add ons being unlikely to be met, so the club can save face.

Man City need Sterling. There aren't many available English players that fit their profile... in fact I'd probably say there are a handful.

Maybe they think they can afford to wait another year for him if he's too expensive now but I'd hope that we'd make it clear that if they want to sign him, then it's now or in two years when his contract expires.

** thumbs up **

Definitely should reject the offer. 45m minimum or he stays another year its as simple as that. We'll still get 30+ for him next season.

Yet again we're being somehow hypnotised into thinking Sterling's camp holds all the cards. Extraordinary. And this time Henry is about as engaged as a lavatory with a missing door. We need to be firm - he either stays or we get exactly what we want for him, not several million less.

I love the little nugget of news that says "this represents City's final bid" - Oh really???? We'll see about that if Pogba goes to Barca or Utd. 50mill please or 40M plus Jovetic.

I reckon it'll be done for 40m + add ons.

Or sooner if we need to get his replacement (Firmino?) deal over the line quickly.

i think it will end up being 40 mil plus some shite add ons that will never be met. No way on earth they have made their final offer before the transfer window even opens. They are desperate to get him because they need homegrown players for their squad, sit tight and they will come back with a bigger offer.

And the year after we will get around 20 mill + Compensation.. maybe more, with no QPR fee to outlay either..

If Ings is getting 7 million compo with his highest offer being 12 mill.. Sterling compo would be decent..

We can't lose really..

Price point? Do you work in retail?

It was reported that thier first offer was supposed to be last offer.

Everyone knows its BS, 2 weeks into June and we have recieved bid from a club desperate for English players and money burning a hole in thier pockets
