Here we go again.

We've got this far, can we go further?

If we don't win at City away, will we gain ground elsewhere?

Do we have to win all 9?

I loathe comparing us to Fergusons United but one thing they always had was an abundance of strikers. In the days of two up front they always had 4 who were all more than capable.

These days we’re playing 3 forwards and we’ve got 5 who are fantastic and a couple more that are capable. It feels very different to running Mo, Bobby and Sadio into the ground week after week and crossing our fingers. It already shows in the carabao and FA cup performances, i think the depth will be such a big deal in this run in.

Our run in is quite a bitch which actually suits us better imo. City seems to struggle more against the smaller teams.

Well if the form from the last 9 league games is anything to go by...

I don't think we'll do it. I've no doubt we could beat city at the Etihad, but I also think we're more likely to drop points elsewhere

I dunno. We always looked especially likely to drop points against low block teams, whilst tearing apart any team with the temerity to attack us. We now seem to have more players with the ability to prise open even deep lying defences, and I honestly think City look as likely to drop points, if not more, precisely because despite their terrific array of talent, they don't have our striking strength. It will be tight.

Our fixtures are much worse.

Only thing going for us is that they've got more teams in relegations dogfights, so might get a trickier game.

After last night, I'm quietly confident.

I think we're winning games that we should be drawing, whereas City are stumbling due to not having an out and out goal scorer. They have it keep it up, but the mentality of this squad is impossible to doubt, and adding in Diaz in January has proven a master-stroke.

My concern is the City match, TBH. When we've beaten them it's always been a case of expending huge energy reserves in the first half by blitzing them. Whether we have the energy to do something similar, whilst fighting across all fronts, I don't know. If you into the game too passively City will just grind us down. We need to come away with at least a draw at the Etihad.

Still can't see us doing it. Mainly because I can't see City shitting the bed - they've done this a few times, and can probably cope with the pressure.

They don’t look like they can cope with the pressure right now. It’s going to keep going up as long as we keep winning.

There'll be a few more twists and turns but I'm just holding onto the hope that I bet it always feels like a tinderbox at City, during training before the match in the dressing room etc. Players just ready for Pep to start talking jibberish and always on edge esp with the pressure building.
On the other hand at LFC it's probably the usual banter and chatter and game time focus when ready.

They're run is so much easier , I don't see us winning the next 9

... Oof , we have a +5 gd swing , that could be massive

Wolves and Leeds may not be as easy as that. Wolves were screwed earlier this season and Leeds may get their act together They also have the tools to hurt city which I think they did last season.

The bookies are about right (4/9 City 7/4 us) though maybe a little strong on City. We have a tougher run-in, we're 1 point behind and our head-to-head is away from home. All factors in City's favour. We'll need to have 19 on the bounce to be sure, or somehow, somewhere City need to drop more points than us (and both will). Even though there's hope City must still be odds on.

Haha there's no way Everton will get anything from a trip to Anfield - other than yet another pounding to send them on their way to the Championship.

And no way City are going to lose at home to Villa on the last day !
