Hi all
Me and a friend are about to set off to Devizes for a canoe trip to Westminster. My friend's sister died of MS last year so we're doing it for the MS Society in her memory. It's not the official Devizes to Westminster canoe marathon - we're just following the route. We are both complete novices (although have been training when we can over the last couple of months) so doing it in one go is out of the question. We got our boat off Freecycle, and it's designed for stability rather than speed! Plus we'll have all our camping kit with us. We aim to get it done in three days.
We had planned to do this last week, but unfortunately my mum fell seriously ill last Sunday, and has consumed my time since. I thought about calling it off, but decided against it. I am now also doing this for her, because I know she would want me to. Plus I need the distraction, to be honest.
