LIVERPOOL RELY ON LUIS SUAREZ TOO MUCH WARNS VORM

Michael Vorm says that Liverpool player Luis Suarez is world class
Tuesday November 8,2011

SWANSEA goalkeeper Michel Vorm has emerged as Liverpool’s tormentor once again by branding Kenny Dalglish’s side a one-man team over-reliant on Luis Suarez.

Holland stopper Vorm delivered the damning verdict after a 0-0 stalemate at Anfield as Kenny Dalglish saw his team draw for the fourth time in six home matches.

Attacked from within for their insipid display - defender Daniel Agger called his own team-mates “headless chickens” - Liverpool found Vorm also taking aim after his excellent saves denied Suarez and Glen Johnson in the dying stages.

Vorm was largely untroubled as Dalglish saw his side outplayed by an enterprising Swansea. And he believes the influence of Suarez, who has dazzled since his arrival from Ajax for £22.8million in January, has become overbearing.

“We played well and Liverpool had a hard time to keep up with us, because of our shape and tactics,” said Vorm, who faced Suarez when he was at FC Utrecht.

“Suarez and Andy Carroll are very clever players, but we worked so hard for 90 minutes to deny them opportunities.

“Maybe they rely too much on Suarez. He is a player with incredible qualities. He’s a world-class player - I’ve played a lot of times against him in Holland and he has scored a few goals against me, so it is funny to see him again.
“But maybe they rely too much on him. He is a player who can make a difference, you know that. But he didn’t, and they didn’t score.

“Maybe because we kept him quiet they didn’t have other options. Perhaps that is unlucky for them, because in the future he will score, you can see that. We did our homework and we worked hard for the full 90 minutes to deny him the chances, and that is what you have to do when you arrive at Anfield.

“During the match we had some conversations. I was telling him I was going to stop him again - he knows because I played some good matches against him in Holland.”

The two aren't mutually exclusive.
