I see they've now fetched Schneiderlin into the squad, which should strengthen them. Good player, Schneiderlin.

Podolski?Maybe now Germany will regret not taking any strikers – other than 36-year-old Klose.
… and they replaced him with a defender. Weird.
Why are young English centre midfielders always compared to Gazza?
Seriously....Barkley for instance, is nothing like Gazza. More like a young Gerrard.
He's very like Gazza - white, midfielder, good dribbler and passer, two footed, strong regional accent, secondary education etc etc
I really don't see what's so special with Lallana. I failed to see that yesterday as well. Just seems so slow with the ball. I'm think I'm ready to call it, he's a flavour of the year player and like so many before him the hype train has carried him to world class status.
See the funny thing is that he already has a Spanish name and doesn't make him any sexier.Let's call him Lallaninho ... then you may like him a wee bit more! 🙂

He's basically Luis Garcia, but an English version which means that we have to pay a stupid amount of cash to sign him. The comparison with Shakiri is fucking embarrassing.
Yeah it was wrong of me to compare the two cause clearly Garcia was the better player, but you're still willing to pay 4 times as much. The comparison to a player who struggled to hold onto the ball most games, and who's forte was goals out of nothing, is far more embarassing ... that being said, I'm fairly certain you've barely watched Shaqiri or Lallana much ... So I don't blame you for your analysis!

You're an odd poster mate ... You really tend to make the weirdest comments when debating - or whatever you wish to call it. I've not watch Lallana a smuch as Luis Garcia, but for our style of play, Lallana is probably a better fit for many reasons. I've watch Shaqiri maybe twice, maybe three times, and though he impressed me, I really don't know how good he is (Lech, whos' probably watched him the most, didn't give the most glowing report). There you go ... It's just like your pointless comparison between Welback and Lallana yesterday and trying to prove your greatness by saying how much better Welbeck played, ergo he's the better player. Boring.
'clearly Garcia was the better player' ... Ok, you win. Well done.
Clearly making financial comparisons based on a Barca reserve (which is what he was) 9 years ago to a starting England international on a top 8 team is also good. You win there, so that's 2-0 Modo.
Last but not least, Lallana does sound pretty Spanish. 3-0.
** rupturous applause **
Let's talk about Zlatan!
What I said yesterday was that Welbeck brings balance to a team like England and that Sterling and Lallana should be the ones competing for a spot in the starting XI. The reason why comparisons were made between the two was because people were saying how shit Welbeck was, despite him having a decent game imo. Didn't all three pundits have Welbeck in the starting line up? It means something doesn't it?
I haven't won anything yet by the way, we can still sign Lallana and he can turn out to be the dog bollocks and I'll cower in shame. Or he'll turn out to be bollocks and I'll throw it in everyone's face cause that's what I do 😉.
Also the "Modo hates English/British players" argument is a bit daft because no one on this forum wanted us to sign Gary Cahill as much as I did. I also wanted us to sign Allen and Barkley (two years ago). There's just too many question marks surrounding Lallana that it's impossible for me to ignore it. With regards to England, you know what you get from Welbeck (some will say nothing, well ha ha) but Lallana is still a wild card for me.
Barkley is mixed race, hes similar to Jess Ennis in that you might not know they have a black parent because it isn't that obvious by looking at them.
