The French have been drawn against Ukraine. That's a tough enough draw. The other ties are:
Portugal v Sweden
Greece v Romania
Iceland v Croatia
Ties to be played on 15 and 19 November

I would love it if Sweden could put Portugal out. The World Cup would be so much better without those cheating twats.

I suppose I will be cheering on Greece in this one. I would love it if Iceland go through.

I dunno Portly, seeing that greasy haired cunt whinge when they get knocked out is one of the highlights of an international tournament for me now!

Viva Ukraine, Sweden, Iceland (especially !) and I dunno I guess Greece. But this is probably the best draw, though tough, Iceland could have got.

In the old days when Liverpool used to compete in European competitions, I always hated it when Liverpool were drawn against a Portuguese club side. It's not just the diving and general simulation, but in the game at Anfield they would use negative strategies to stop the home side getting any kind of rhythm - like constantly falling to the ground and demanding protracted treatment by the trainer.

My old Manager, Ange Postecoglou has just got the Australian job. Bit of a step up from coaching the likes of me to managing your country at the World Cup.

Not if your county is Australia

Aaaaaaaaah I kid. I'm sure they've got a couple of not awful players

I'd rather have Romania in the WC than Greece. After destroying the the joy of football in 2004 they can stay at home.

Can't believe one of Zlatan and Ronaldo aren't going to be playing in Brazil. Personally hoping for a Sweden win though.

They should have gone for someone with more experience at a big tournament like this.

Nonsense. They're a shit side and no manager is going to get them past the group stage.

They need someone who's not going to focus on the short term.

For once, they've thought of the long-term. It's a wise move.

For the World Cup of would be a shame not to have Ronaldo or Zlatan in

Blatter will be gutted

I wanted us to knock out Portugal.

Will piss myself if France go out to a team we finished above.

Trouble is, when you play Portugal it's never a straightforward football match. It always becomes a bizarre piece of theatre involving simulation, manipulation of the referee and the trainer coming on every 5 minutes. Remember when C. Ronaldo got Rooney sent off?

Personally I would rather avoid the buggers.

Regardless, the World Cup should include the best players in the world.
I would have wanted both countries to qualify.

You're trying to get a fake Australian passport for an obscure relative as we speak, aren't you?

The long term for a world cup finals?

What is the point in that?

And who's to say the right manager can't get them out of the group or at least make them hard to beat.

They can start their rebuild after these finals when the last of their older players retire.

Putting in a manager with zero international experience with a poor set of players to begin with looks like diaster waiting to happen.

I don't know what you're talking about, but I'm sure it's shit.

By not installing some flash European name who may give them some semblance of a chance next year - they have demonstrated that focusing on any short term gains they may get out of that are fruitless, because the intent of any of those coaches is not to build for future success.

By installing an Australian, and someone with a history of long-term development of youth players, they've focused on the right things; future-planning, youth development, sustainability.
