He's been a deer in headlights which is understandable but it is also exactly the opposite of what you want to see. So far to me it looks like he would be of most use playing like firmino, but the problem is so far he's just looked awkward, and that is the most technically demanding, most difficult to learn position in the entire team.

He prefers to not play that position, but he just seems too slow to me. If his crossing and interplay prove to be his strength then he won't get much practice in this current shit show, and we will be waiting a little bit.

There is a decent list of players who looked very impressive in the WC and Dutch leagues and couldn't transfer their performance to the premier league. Some of us are concerned that, based on initial evidence, he likes more likely to be on that list. If he turns around his performance, I have no problem admitting I was wrong. Yes, the scouting team and Klopp must have researched him in depth. Do you know who else they have researched in more depth? Jones (whom you critiqued in the previous page and not that you are wrong) and was just offered a new contract. I am betting the same team researched Ox and Keita in depth also.

But it's not just 'voicing concerns' is it? I have concerns too but anyone can see how dysfunctional and lacking in confidence the team is - the perfect environment eh. But you have people saying sell him already or have completely made their minds up, after the lads has had 250 mins in a red shirt. I would guess that even if we were put into a position of needing to act fast we'd still have a thick scouting file on him, have scouted him in person for hundreds of hours and have him on a short list. And of course, the price was right even if the position he plays in isn't !
