When Wolves come to Anfield and have more possession than us I'm not sure you can really put a different spin on it.
the possession was at worst 50/50 especially seeing as we dominated the first half.

I don't think we were particularly good either. Far from it.

However when you consider Suarez missed a few decent chances, Carroll hit the post, Lucas fired narrowly wide, Downing failed to score when one on one with the keeper so we still created plenty of chances without playing anywhere near our best.

It was 51/49.

And we had Carroll up front !

We only had 73 % passing accuracy. Thas horribly low, and we gave the ball away countless of times. City, Arsenal and Chelsea were around the 87% mark, we need to improve in this area to say the least.

Oh and if i never saw skrtel in a liverpool shirt again it wouldn't bother me ...i use to quite like him but he's been getting worse since his first few months with us . He's a headless chicken who i don't trust one bit ....ok he's not quite titus bramble but he's not far off .
I don't get why so many people have this view of Skrtel. Imo he is better than Agger and we are much more solid with Skrtel and Carra then Agger and Carra. Need proof? 2008/09. I also think he's just as good as Agger with the football at his feet. Scores more goals too.

Think it's because he hasn't scored a wonderstrike myself. Skrtel is an accomplished cb

...with the poise and composure of a frightened child.

I don't generally have a problem with Skrtel, so long as he's partnered with Carragher. When the onus is on him to lead, his decision-making is often lacking. When he was partnered with the Greek at times last season, it was a horror show. And have you ever seen him play for Slovakia? At times, it's been almost comical.

There's no doubt he has it in him to put in some really dominant displays, but I can never relax with him at the back, and without Carragher there, he scares the shit out of me.

skrtel may have his fans but how anyone can argue he dives in when he would be better served staying on this feet is beyond me.
as for the defense in general we seem very erratic, not quite all over the place but certainly not composed either.

Agree with this.

Defence is rocky at the moment. The big fuck off holes in midfield we're leaving in front of them isn't helping much either though. Even though we won Saturday I walked out pretty angry. I was really angry at the static midfield display. Both Lucas and Adam were very poor in the respect of mobility and moving the ball well and that stagnated throughout the team at times. This is compounded by Charlie Adams fitness levels currently. There was one time where Suarez was out on the left and turned the defender, ran forward and looked to lay it off inside but there wasn't a midfield player within about 20 yards distance. On the positive side our forward line looked much better and gave a bit of positivity we do need to become much much more clinical though in front of goal. Henderson needs dropping for Kuyt. The lad has ability but at the moment he's suffering from rabbit in the headlight syndrome. Gerrard coming on for Adam was the right sub for me but I was bemused when he come on for Suarez as were a lot of crowd. If that was Benitez or Hodgson they'd have received a lot of stick for that substitution.

if henderson has to be dropped it should be for maxi. if kuyt has to play let it be as a striker, he isn't a right midfielder. if bellamy's knees were up to it then he would be my choice for the left (with downing on the right).

Kuyt has played right midfield for years Neil and is much better suited to a derby game than Maxi

Please stop this he isn't a right midfielder stuff. Please.
He isn't really one, but he's still the best one we have, Gerrard excluded.

But I agree, saying Henderson is a right midfielder and Kuyt isn't, is just plain stupid.

this is what we need in a wide position
a) someone who can put quality crosses into the box
b) someone with pace and creativity to take the ball down the wing and either cross or pull the ball back into the penalty box.
c) someone with the creativity and movement to stretch teams and keep them on the back foot.

I think this describes downing, bellamy and at a push maxi but this doesn't describe kuyt. kuyt is at his best when he is in and around the opposition penalty box, the further away from this position he get the less effective he becomes.
I think there is a specific reason kenny hasn't started kuyt in a wide right position all season and it isn't he has taken leave of his senses.

I think you're describing Roy of the Rovers neil, certainly no-one who plays in our team. Welcome to reality

I don't have a problem with kuyt in a 4-3-3 but I do have a problem with kuyt in a on the right of a 4-4-2 I just not convinced with him there. and people can list the goals and assists all they like but often those goals/assists were acheived with him in a forward position, like for instance last season when he partnered suarez as torres was fucked off to chelsea.

I've not quoted goals or assists once. I do not feel Henderson is ready nor do I feel Maxi has the right level of steel for a local derby game. Thus Kuyt comes into the team for me as his replacement. Whether that's 4-4-2. 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 I don't really care.

Every blue I know doesn't want Kuyt to start.
Games like this are made for Kuyt ... He'll score if he starts.

Goals scored by Kuyt last season from the right wing:

Vs Fulham A
vs Arsenal A
vs Man City H
vs Sunderland A
vs Newcastle A
vs West Ham H
vs Sunderland H

As striker:

vs Newcastle H
vs United(3) H
vs Sparta H
vs Everton H
vs Birmingham H
vs TRabsonspor A

So musch the same. He seems to better away from home on the right wing, or at least he's played more often away from home there.

Fucking THIS !

Derbys are wars, pure and simple.

Fellani's a cunt. A talented cunt, but a cunt all the same.
Add Drenthe to the mix and we need soldiers.

Whoi's going to give Kelly extra protection from Baines ?
Not Henderson or Maxi.

We don't know what part (if any) Stevie will play, so we require some proper battle-hardned men for this game.

The Dirkilizer must start.

the arsenal away goal made me chuckle seeing as it was a penalty.

He scored pens against Everton and Newcastle as well whilst playing as a striker. Which means he much more prolific at pens when playing up front ?
