wolves thoughts

Based on what you guys are saying about our performance - do you think we will struggle against the current top 3 teams ? - Do you think we will repeat the mistakes of Spurs and get hammered when we face the big teams in the coming matches, from reading these posts - it seems yes we create chances, No we can't put away those chances by turning them into goals, yes the opposition regardless of how high up in the league seem to cause us problems if they attack and press us.; Am I right in thinking we are just not that good.

I thought Wolves played well for a short periods at the beginning of first half and in the second half they out ran us and pressed us hard.

We had good moments, should have scored at least 3 or 4 with 2 hitting the woodwork.

Suarez was good. Carroll good in patches. Good to see Kelly back. Enrique is solid.

The real bonus is seeing Stevie flying and bombing forward.

A hard earned 3 points but it is still 3 points.

Well done red men!

Spot on.

Skrtel scared the shit out of me today.

Adam was shite, despite working his bollocks off, which is also scary. Lucas was just meh.

Our midfield looked 100 times better within a minute of Gerrard coming on.

Carroll was very good, he had the defenders run ragged, I'd like to see him & Suarez interchanging more, I dont like Andy playing so deep all the time, I think we negate his best quality of mithering their CB's & making space. That said, with Stevie in there that space where he's currently playing will defo be exploited.

How did Carroll go today please lads?
Hungry, willing, eager. He has Bellamy and Gerrard breathing down his neck and he knows that. He held it up well, brought others into play, didn't slow us down either. Hit the post with a header and should have pulled the trigger at the very end. He won a lot of headers at the back for us too. Solid 90mins, pity he didn't get a goal to get the confidence brimming.

Also I think Gerrard has the game intelligence to read his knocks down.

Carroll was improved, Henderson really adds nothing to the team right now and Skrtel was absolutely awful. Gerrard looked pretty sharp though

Specsavers have a sale on at the moment.
He was shocking second half mate, a couple of stupid fouls that werent necessary and he was all over the place when when Doyle made a mess of his opportunity after being left totally unmarked. When Wolves had a good spell and started applying a bit of pressure he totally lost his head and seemed to unsettle the whole defence
I'm with Gary 25 on this one. He played an outstanding first half (yes he does have a propensity to dive in - but with one of the 'bad tackles' he actually won the ball but the ref deemed it too aggressive) and although he made a couple of poor tackles in the 2nd half he was actually covering the front post (because Enrique unluckily didn't get the run of the ball when he made a tackle out on the wing. I thought he had a very good game (one or two tackles aside).
Is right. Sure he was rash and gave away a few fouls but it's funny how Skrtel's good work isn't highlighted.

He made some great tackles and won plenty of balls in the air. He was doing a lot of covering for Kelly as well who was shite but that's another story.

I reckon Dalglish should have meetings every month to have meetings with fans..

Meetings about meetings, ai?

We should hold a meeting about that.

Haha !

1 Man Utd 6 17 16
2 Man City 6 14 16
3 Chelsea 6 5 13
4 Newcastle 6 4 12
5 Liverpool 6 0 10
6 Tottenham 5 0 9
7 Stoke 6 -2 9

each to their own but I think we're doing well. I think there has only been one game where we were truly terrible. in every game we've dropped points we've created enough chances to win the game, that's a positive, surely?

Skrtel was shit

Suarez is our only source of creativity as I've stated time and time again.
However that'll change now that Stevie is back.

Kelly seems to have lost some pace

Lucas is a good defensive midfielder despite what some say

Hendo shouldnt be in the starting line up

Same goes for Adam, despite the "goal"

Downing belongs on the left

Encouraging performance from Carroll

Suarez shouldnt have been subbed.

Hard fought three points, not the best performance defensively but we won. Im somewhat content.

Cheers.

Sounds like he played well.

Apparently we're 5 points better off than the same fixtures last year
In Kenny we trust..

Suarez was fantastic! A bit worrying that he was SO pissed of after beeing subbed.

Henderson is a waste of space.

Enrique will become a good servant for us many years to come.

We'll lose againt the top teams with our naive strategy. We were a bit lucky today when Wolves had a go at us but in the end we won and it should have been with more perhaps.

Henderson has been a passenger all season. He should not be a starter anytime soon.

Downing should stick to the left. He looks absolutely rubbish on the right.

Our defence looks shaky, Carra\Agger are much better and composed than Carra\Skrtel. Skrtel dives in too quickly and hardly ever wins the ball.

We dominate games but aren't ruthless enough and don't finish off the opposition.

Carroll has improved but doesn't deserve to start yet. Its Suarez + 1 other

Gerrard is a welcome boost and hopefully will lead us to better things.

Pepe has lost his confidence and must improve.

I thought carroll did enough today to see if he can continue this form next game.

Luis Suarez
Happy for the winning and scored again! Is important to gain more points in this championship! I felt really sad and sorry because I always want to help my team to win the match!! Thanks for your support!

Mostly laughable. Those saying otherwise are talking out their arse to try and justify someone we spent 35m on.

Have a look at his effort jus before the final whistle. I bust out laughing in the middle of the pub and I wasn't the only one. Suarez had every right to be disgusted when he was taken off.

Carroll played well Ryan. Well in comparison to his recent performances. Was much stronger, kept the ball better, better movement etc.

Still nowhere near the force he was at Newcastle but it's a start at least.

Get over the price tag chief.... he played pretty well.

we won! yay!
is right.... and is the only really reasonable response. After game three we saw people posting how spurs and arsenal were done and how it was all a done deal, but then last week we saw a full blown butch fest involving much whinging which even involved Oncy...

it is game 6 ffs ... we won...

fucking YAY

I'd prefer a striker to not play well and score goals.

We won Ryan so who cares who scored the goals. Three points is three points.

Carroll had a decent game and looked motivated and hungry. Hopefully he'll kick on.
