Winter Rumors Thread

Reported in a couple of German outlets now (Sidney Sam)

0.5 or 1.5 year loan deal mooted.

When guys say a player's good but he's available for loan at 27, there must be something pretty seriously wrong with the guy. Why else would the club let him go of a talented guy at this age? I mean, you could get a talented guy, but he's probably an attitude case, a hospital case, or an underwhelming underperforming case. Of the three, the last case gives you a bit of hope that you could transform the guy with a change in scenery and team. The first two cases are the worst and unfortunately Sidney Sam falls under the physically broken player category.

These are his time sheets from these 3 seasons. Take a look at the types of injuries - "muscle fibre", muscular problems, hamstring. He was out for about 3 months this season with "tendon irritation".

I don't know, I suppose given our current predicament, having a fit and hardworking but less talented player might be a better thing than a talented walking wounded.

We were linked with him about a year or so ago and he had terrible tattoos. I have never seen him play football.

Pato hasnt had a injury for about 3 years now.
He's played 150 games in the last 3 seasons.

He fell out with the Schalke manager aswell

Sam had an excellent season for Bayer couple of years ago as a quick goal-scoring winger and then dropped off the radar due to injuries and bad attitude. I hope we are not so desperate to take this kind of gamble.

Would love for us to sign Praet, have watched him in the Europa League this season and he's looked quality

I see Leicester are being linked with Walsall's left back Rico Henry. He has got every chance of becoming a top player and we should be seriously looking at him. He's only 18 and we were linked with him (as were Arsenal and City) a while ago. Hopefully we'll offer £2m with add-ons and loan him back for the rest of the season. He is very attack minded, bery quick and very comfortable on the ball.

How would he compare with that kid from Leicester whom we've also been linked with?
I've never seen Chilwell play JJ. I've only seen Henry play once but he was excellent. I've also seen him in highlights and have read quite a bit about him from Walsall fans and it seems like he could be the real deal.

See you dropped a little Hodgson in the last line there.
I like.

Leeds accepted Everton's bid (4-5m reported) for Sam Byram (RB). We'd been linked to this kid for a while. He's in the final 6 months of his contract and had refused to sign a new deal.

At that price we should probably be involved. I was going to question if he would be happy playing back up to Clyne but its highly likely that he'd be behind Coleman at Everton. Perhaps Everton would consider cashing in on Coleman if they get a large offer.

Coleman is probably gonna get a LOT of interest from Manure, who aren't playing Darmian (a natural RB) there too often (even putting Young ahead of him!!!)

I endorse this post. Henry is great. I've never seen him play and am basing this entirely on the fact I signed him in FIFA.

Indeed, though he may want to wait and see what happens about Mad Louie. I certainly don't think he'd come to us to be no.2 to Clyne.

Interesting because Darmian looked a very solid defender in his first few matches (didn't watch him since). Not too creative when he moves up but he doesn't lose the ball that much. Thought he was a good signing but perhaps the media got to LVG and he is putting in more attacking players.

Funnily enough his rep in Italy was the opposite, good going forward but less reliable at the bread-and-butter defending (though maybe that's because defending is such a high priority over there). Maybe LVG's confused him. He certainly seems to have done that to some of the others there.

Apparently West Ham and Newcastle have jumped in now for Byram. Newcastle - he must be rubbing his hands in glee at the thought of possibly returning to the Championship next season (or maybe the season after).

He's going to Everton, which maybe means Coleman being sold? I dunno. Not really seen him play, so have no idea how good he is, but everton have made some very good signings in the last couple of seasons.

He's a West Ham fan so he might go there instead if they are interested. At least that what I read earlier today.
