Sorry Doc but I'm not - here are all of his goals from 2016/17 (31). He is your archetypal CF who scores using his pace and right place right time (poaching inside the box) - note there's not a single goal typical Salah, jinking in from wide right and we never see him out there.
He would be the perfect replacement for Sturridge and our system. The only downside is he'll be 29 in June but for the right price we could get 3-4 years out of him and he'd be unlikely to complain too much about playing second fiddle to Firmino (they will know each other and language not an issue either).
So players prefer Liverpool to London now.. Nice to know in a world cup year!

On a like for like basis, sure - but it doesn't fix the glaring issues they've got across midfield, defence and with their goalkeeper.

Their back 3 at the weekend was Rob Holding, Calum Chambers, and Mustafi. Sat in front of Cech - who is absolutely fucking done as a top flight goalkeeper.
That 4 shouldn't be getting games for a bottom-of-the-table side.

... and Mkhitaryan - he was actually much better in an Arsenal-like system under Tuchel then in a more energy-demanding game required by Klopp.
I also think Aubameyang may actually fit nicely into Wenger’s tactics - he likes “proper” center-forwards and Lacazette is more of a second striker, so he didn’t really solve Arsenal’s need despite playing well most of the time. Aubameyang can be a big upgrade on Giroud as the target man up top.

Aubameyang's good, sure. But how many more points is he going to get them across the season that they're not getting from Lacazette or Giroud? A handful maybe?
Hardly worth it is it. Sure if you're trying to piece togethor the final pieces of your jigsaw, but they have fucking structural issues that Wenger continues to fail to solve. How is he not fixing that defence? Or buying a better goalkeeper? Or getting a better centrael midfielder, or 4, than Granit fucking Xhaka?
For all their long-term planning, and famed recruitment and development, Wenger has been fucking rubbish in the transfer market for years.
From the mad panic buying in one week of Arteta, Benayoun, Park, Santos and Mertesacker to the idea of 40-odd million on Xhaka, to spending 60M on Lacazette only to decided 5 months later than you need to spend another 70M on Aubameyang?
It's like he's making it up as he goes along. Meanwhile any decent player he does bring in, figures out it's a lopsided mess that they're going to win fuck all at and hop foots it out of there. Sanchez is just the latest in a long line of Fabragas's, Vermaelen's, Adebayor's, Clichy's, etc to hop foot it out of there. Make no mistake, Ozil would be gone too if anyone could afford his wages.

I'm wrong about Mkhitaryan ? How can I be wrong about him when all I said was he's not as good as Ozil so hardly a decent replacement ?
And even a blind man watching that clip of Aubameyang's 31 goals last season can see that he is far better suited to a Klopp style team than a Wenger one playing possession around the opposition box. Not that he wouldn't score goals for them, he's that good, but he'd be even better for us.

It sounded to me like you assumed that Mkhitaryan is a better fit for Klopp’s Dortmund than the pass-pass-pass style of Arsenal, whereas I pointed out that he only blossomed at Dortmund after Klopp left and was replaced by Tuchel who plays a somewhat similar game to Arsene. But maybe I misread your post? Apologies if so.
BTW I think I predicted from the start that Mkhitaryan won’t work out in Mourinho’s team - just as most pundits proclaimed him to be a final piece of the jigsaw and United fans were laughing at us for paying more for Mane (was it?) than they did for the “world-class” Armenian - remember those times?
So Mktirian and Aubumeyang who blossomed in Tuchels Dortmund on their way in.... Could Tuchel also be on his way or did he find himself a new post already?
I only said 4 words re. Mkhitaryan, including his name 😀 Mkhitaryan isn't an Ozil . Meaning he's not in that class but I can see how maybe that can be misconstrued 😉
I'm delighted he didn't work out at United, I really feared the worst. I had wanted him here .... Mourinho really does misuse some players.
When the signed him i said he'd flop as he can't play with a defensive minded manager or a manager that requires him to work hard for the team. Its why he didn't do that great under Klopp either. Its only when Tuchel took over he blossomed as he didn't have as much defensive responsibility. Under Wenger it would be the same so i think he would do better at Arsenal.
Jokes aside, they're dogshit. In hindsight, Wenger built an awesome couple of teams on insider knowledge when the market was nothing like it is now. Since that same market has been open to everyone, he's lived off scraps.
The likes of Ox, and Walcott would have been the same, would have been much better served playing for us or ManU from the off, it's starting to look like he stifles talent. His signings have been ropey for as long as I can remember.
Walcott, Ox and Ramsey in particular are worthy of top careers, I think he's fucked them (or nearly has).

I read an article about Arsenal recently and there was a list of the signings they've made in the last few seasons, for a total outlay of £250m. It's horrible. And funny.
