"More of Pesam's lower league rubbish.............................."

Rumours that Arsenal are sniffing around Accrington Stanley's Josh Windass who has shitloads of potential. Because he's out of contract in the summer he won't cost that much although there would be some negotation required due to the compenstaion rules regarding signing players under 25 from other English clubs.

Sniffing around Windass... pun intended?

Newcastle make offer for Alexandre Lacazette worth over €25m

Premier League side Newcastle have made an oral offer worth over €25m for Lyon attacker Alexandre Lacazette, according to this morning’s L’Équipe.

Newcastle, who have also been in talks for Loïc Rémy, are prioritising the signing of a striker in the January transfer window.

The Premier League side sent two representatives to France last week to present an offer to Lyon for the French international and striker.

Lyon’s response was perhaps surprisingly not entirely negative, reluctant, but not slamming the door shut and the figure appears to be one that OL President Jean Michel Aulas is willing to begin some form of negotiations around.

The offer was serious enough for Alexandre Lacazette to be notified of its existence. His response, unfortunately for Newcastle, was immediately negative.

Lacazette has no intention of risking his chances of a place at EURO 2016 by moving clubs in the middle of the season and is particularly perturbed by Newcastle’s record with French players including Hatem Ben Arfa and Florian Thauvin. Ideally, Lacazette would like to join a club after the major tournament this summer that plays in the Champions’ League.

Does that mean that a move for Lacazette to Newcastle this month is impossible? The answer is no. Newcastle will look at other targets in the coming days but have the financial capacity to make a bigger offer for Lacazette, a fee that is over the €30m mark.

If they lodge such an offer, will Lyon be inclined to sell? More undoubtedly to follow.

I will cry if Newcastle gets Lacazette. Lacazette is having a relatively poor season, but he's the ideal striker for us.

I think that Lacazette is overrated. We need to sign a world class striker and not one that maybe will be that. No more big gambles.

Cavani. Would probably cost as much as Lacazette. He is a hard working striker that score a lot of goals if he is played as the central striker. He is playing out wide at PSG and because of his hard work Zlatan get a lot of space.

Cavani will cost more than Lacazzette and is on about 250k at PSG.
That move will never happen.

I on the other hand have been impressed with the guy, but if it's true that Lacazette would be cheaper he'd be far better value IMHO.

France striker Alexandre Lacazette snubs Newcastle after Lyon accept £22million bid
  • Alexandre Lacazette has turned down the chance to sign for Newcastle
  • France striker is keen not to disrupt his preparations for the national side
  • Toon boss Steve McClaren is desperate to sign another striker this January

Alexandre Lacazette has rejected a move to Newcastle United after Lyon accepted a £22m bid for the striker.

Toon boss Steve McClaren is desperate to land another frontman in the January transfer window with Papiss Cisse expected to be out for at least another month with a groin strain.

But Lacazette is fully focused on securing his place in France's Euro 2016 squad this summer and is said to have dismissed Newcastle's approach out of hand.

Cavani appears like a pimped up Dirk Kuyt to me. South American hairstyle, but with the same work-rate.

Liverpool Reportedly Close to £7M Andrea Ranocchia Deal

Widespread reports have Liverpool close to a deal for Inter Milan’s veteran centre half Andrea Ranocchia, who has fallen out of favour with boss Roberto Mancini.

Joel Matip, Neven Subotic, and now Andrea Ranocchia. About the only thing that seems clear right now is that Liverpool are desperately seeking defensive reinforcements. No matter how quickly the club can bring someone in, he won’t be available to face Exeter on Friday. Arsenal on Wednesday, though, appears a realistic target.
Speculation the player arriving to shore up the defence before Liverpool’s mid-week league clash could be Inter Milan veteran Andrea Ranocchia increased today, with widespread reports in both the Italian and English press claiming a deal was close to done, one that would see the 27-year-old arrive on Merseyside shortly. Less clear is if it would be on loan or a permanent deal.
Gazetta dello Sport claim Liverpool have offered £7M for the services of the former Inter captain who has fallen out of favour with manager Roberto Mancini. He made 42 appearances for the club last year as captain but, at its end, found himself stripped of the armband. This season it has been given to Mauro Icardi instead, and Ranocchia has made just ten appearances.
Elsewhere, the suggestion is Liverpool are looking to secure the Italian international on loan, perhaps with an option to buy the physically imposing and tactically sound but technically limited defender at the end of the season. And while Liverpool’s interest in Ranocchia remains unconfirmed by sources with ties to the club, it’s clear he is available.
The defender has been told he is free to find a new home, and Inter reportedly accepted a recent £7M bid from Norwich City only for the player to block the move. The possibility of resurrecting his career at Anfield, though, would surely seem a more appealing option. And the price appears to have been set, making for a deal Liverpool could likely wrap up quickly.
Liverpool are in the market for a centre half, and Ranocchia is an intriguing option at what could turn out to be a bargain price. But so too are Subotic and Matip. Which of the three centre halves actually ends up at the club isn’t clear, but one of Ranocchia, Subotic, or Matip seems almost certain to be signed within a week.

It's a good question - he's 6'5" so that's a start - he's an Italian defender so that's a plus 2 and an Italy International- snd he's meant to be good in the air - so who knows
