Winter break

Quite a few managers have been asking for this recently, and with the weather, and "health and safety" postponing the game, would it be worth looking at a winter break for the upcoming seasons?

Obviously, it's unlikely to be as cold as this next year, but i think it'd be good for everyone to have a rest like.

Quite. Goodness knows how long this season's going to have to last now. With a winter break it would be that way every year.

In non WC or Euro years, the season should start and finish later to give the players an extended rest.

Are Germany on their winter break now? The Monchengladbach fans usually come over to watch Liverpool during it don't they? Hope it wasn't meant to be the Spurs game!

Good point. I suppose if it happened, it'd make sense to mirror the other leagues.

No. The clubs would just organise lucrative tours half way around the world to fill the break. Or it would be used for another international get-together, which I couldn't care less about.

Bollocks. Winter's miserable enough, if you take out a month of football, the only decent thing in the entire season would be Xmas

Yeah, I so dont want a Winter break though. I LOVE the Boxing Day match, & in January I need footy to help me get out of my post-christmas funk.

I'd have a break after Boxing day (you can't not have footy on boxing day) until the 3rd/4th week in January. I'd also play less meaningless friendlies as well.
