Will Suarez leave? The 2014 version

How very charming. Someone disagrees with me = they're being deliberately obtuse. No, I just don't share your low opinion of the club, or your sudden reverence for La Liga, or for your willingness to excuse what is a pretty cynical and mercenary ambition as some kind of honest sporting pursuit. That really only merits an 'agree to differ,' so let's just do that.

That's what I said at the start - that we simply disagree. It was the "maybe he should go to Celtic", which found a bit annoying given that gone to the trouble of writing out my thoughts.

As for my low opinion of the club and supposed reverence for La Liga, I think that's a lazy argument and intended to provoke.

So yes, perhaps we should've left it at "agree to disagree".

15m for Pedro I reckon.

I like Pedro - he's a very good player but I cannot see him dong well in a system that isn't set up like Barca's. I'm also not 100% sure he'd work well in the premier league - he doesn't have the same awareness or technical ability as a Silva etc and would struggle with the PL.

Yeah I think he looks better at Barca than he is. However, I do believe our system would suit him. The likes of us and Dortmund would be ideally placed to get the best out of him.

What do you think of Tello and Sanchez - Same problems? Cheers for the education btw 🙂

Tello is a tough call - he seems a bit more physically stronger than Pedro, can score goals but his decision making and passing ain't as good as Pedro's. I don't remember how old he is - but if he's still 21/22, he may be a better signing (and cheaper) than Pedro.

Sanchez is a far better player of the 3. Technically gifted, physically strong, can play up front or on the flanks, got speed and a great shot on him. Don't rate him much as a passer - don't remember him assisting much for Barca this year. He's a top top player though. Suarez-lite.

Like Sterling maybe?

Erm not quite, but I can see how Rodgers has adapted his game to convert him from a traditional winger. Pedro's best attributes are his movement and finishing I would say, while also being good on the ball, but not the biggest dribbler. While having a similar build to Sterling, I'd say Sterling differs in the sense that he's physically stronger and quicker, but likes to carry the ball more.

I'm trying to liken Pedro to someone but I can't really.

Pedro is very quick, though. He also has a good pass on him, like most of that Barca side do, as you'd expect.

Sanchez, on the other hand, would slot right into our side.

Is this will he won't he? shit still going on.

Look, as Henry said himself about these contracts- they don't appear to mean anything, this can be roughly translated to 'I have an asset and I'll choose when and to whom I sell and if you have a problem take me to court to try to enforce the bollocks contract you think you have'.

Thankfully he's owner and not some 'ooh it's Real Madrid' posters on here.

Fuck Spanish clubs and all the greasy, twisting gypsy fuckfaces that populate them. We should get Hicks's lad back to tell them 'blow me fuckface'.

Of course it is. Why wouldn't it be a topic of discussion given the amount of press he has been getting? I'm with you in the trust I have in FSG but I enjoy the debate about will he won't he and who can we get as part of the deal etc.

Also who do you mean when you say 'ooh it's Real Madrid' posters on here? I haven't seen anyone say that.

I think those two plus £40M would be an excellent deal. Although still think you would be better with just cash.

Well maybe - Sanchez seems to be the one everybody agrees should be part of any deal involving Barca. As Spurs found out last season it's not just a case of having the cash to splash. I guess we'll see.

As an aside - I wonder how much the speculation will change if Uruguay go out tonight - Similarly if Suarez scores and they go through his valuation should rocket (forgetting about releases clauses for a second 😉 )

Barrett writes in the Times that the release clause is somewhere around 80 mill £.
Then its a long winded effort filled with something that may or may not happen.

If he leaves, we drop out of the top four and do nothing in the champions league, he's our only world class player, we need him more than any money.

Exactly this.

No matter how much money we get for him, we'll never replace him. There are very few footballers on the planet that are better than him, and none of those would have any interest in coming to Anfield.

This, I guess, is where the truth comes out, rather than in all the doughty defences at the end of last season. I was right after all! All apologies accepted, pip pip!

Another fucking chomp? Fucking hell ... He must see fucking red mist on the pitch.

Oh well - there goes Barca and Real's interest ... Tragic.

Why are we stuck with him? The British media will hound him out of the country ( or at least that's the pretence he will push move to Spain on)

This means fuck all to barca or Madrid , they've had cheats and scumbags play for them since time began.

Suarez is defo gone

Does it really end the interest? Let's be honest, when he wants a move, he seems to do something mental to force it. He'll be hounded again in England for this, perfect excuse to do one.

EXACTLY. I really don't get this line of thinking, that he'll now stay and Barca & Madrid will lose interest.
