good player, but i think you'd have to say £12m is a good price for the lad. i'd been expecting more like £8m.

I like Agger...but i like 12 million more.

Me too. :-* Hard to believe at 1st sight. Maybe the 4 yr contract is handy afterall. 😛

Today's Italian press. Pls pardon the inaccuracy in details of translation. Basically:

- Beppe Marotta and Damien Comolli have opened up discussions on Aquilani as well as brief talks/enquiries on Agger and Johnson.

- Liverpool are contemplating holding on to Aquilani, but Juve are keen to take up the option to sign him permanently. As long as they take up the option before the deadline that was penned down in the contract, we will have to sell. Juve unlikely to make a u-turn on their decision, so the deal is virtually on.

- Juve are looking at the possibility of signing Agger on loan first, similar to what they've done with Aquilani. They don't want/can't afford to clash head-ons with other suitors like Wolfsburg who are prepared to offer up to 14m (not sure is euros or pounds) in the next transfer window.

- They retain a genuine interest in Johnson and have asked to be kept updated, esp. in the summer when they will be in a better position to spend.

14 million euros for Agger? Sheesh, I really like Danny but he cannot stay healthy ... Maybe it's time we make a profit and find a more 'healthy' replacement. Sorry KHL.

My gut tells me selling Agger would come back to haunt us but at that price we'd be mad not to sell.
Yup.

Dunno if this has been posted but it made me kind of happy/optimistic. I really, really hope he can stay clear of injury.

Meanwhile, Hodgson has revealed Daniel Agger has an outside chance of facing Fulham on Saturday week.

The Dane has not featured since September 25 against Sunderland due to a calf injury.

Hodgson said: "Agger is much better and working very, very hard. He's really pushing himself beyond what we could expect him to do. His attitude to getting back is first class.

"We're targeting the Fulham game. The Sports Science people are telling me it's too soon and that really he needs a bit longer, but in my conversations with him he is in agreement that Fulham isn't out of the question so he's pushing it."

My five pence.

£14M seems about right in terms of valuation (although the Sheik knows I've been claiming he is at least worth £15M.. 🙂)

HOWEVER... I don't want to sell players I reckon to be good enough to shape the foundation of our future world class team and IF (and I know that's a big IF) Agger could get over his injuries, he'd be one I'd gladly want any Liverpool-manager to lay his trust upon.

My choice would be to keep him untill the end of the Season and if he's still struggling then to either stay injured or keep his place then we should probably sell him (holds back tear) - at the right prize of course.

£15M would do.

Ok, seems I've made a mistake guys. The 14m in the article seemed to be in reference to Johnson. :-[

Juventus have announced their penchant for Daniel Agger and Glen Johnson directly to Liverpool in a meeting between Giuseppe Marotta and Damien Comolli.

Part of those talks centred around Alberto Aquilani as Juventus want to keep him permanently, but the majority of attention focused on the two defenders.

Il Corriere dello Sport claims Marotta has asked Liverpool about Agger and Johnson as Juventus are eager to bolster in January.

They have made no secret of a will to expand. Marotta himself said he was watching for chances to strengthen.

However, Agger has been linked with Wolfsburg, whereas Johnson is valued at €14 million - mechanisms which could weaken interest or force Juve to reconsider.?

Haha spoilsport Binny....

;D
No "reason" to flog off Agger, then. Much to KHL's delight! 😛

The point about Juve preferring to get him on loan first is confirm though. Can't see why we'll agree to it, unless there's a fee upfront + the option to sign permanently is of a good figure.

That did sound a little too good to be true.
It actually did. Few player with such an injury record as Agger's, whilst beeing injured again, would demand such a fee.

Not that he's not worth every penny but still...

*runs away at Walcott-pace*

The only one I can think of is Aquilani

If Wolfsburg want Agger, we should suggest a part-exchange for Dzeko.
Beat me to it. Agger should be worth enough to bring the cash element of the deal within reasonable limits.

Dzeko is apperantly very unpopular amongst the Wolfsburg fans these days. Stole a penalty from Diego last weekend, and blasted the ball sky high. Was later substituted and was booed of the pitch by the fans, and didn't want to shake McLarens hand either.

Would swap him + money for Agger any day of the week though. Dzeko will most definetly leave this summer imho.

I guess that's the kind of behaviour one might expect from a player who doesn't want to be there any more. Trouble is it doesn't say much for his professionalism. I'd still consider the deal, but that's made me hesitate.

I'd love us to sign Honda aswell. Seems to be a very hot rumour at the moment. Someone on another site claimed that Kenny had talked about us being in negotiations with CSKA.

Hopefully that is true.

Dzeko + Torres = SEX.

On another note....Agger on Loan? Johnson for 14m Euros? What do these Italian teams think of us? That we will bend down and invite them to fuck our ass every time?

If they want our top players they have to pay top money to get them. Else they can fuck off.
