In five years each at Liverpool, Harry Kewell played more games than Daniel Agger.

Seriously?

Thats horrific.

Yeah. I don't think he can catch him before the exact 5 year annniversary since his arrival. He's about 15 games short, and injured of course.

Like who Markeh?

Kewell? Owen? Berger? Redknapp? Aurelio?

why cite our hard luck stories, plenty have came back from bad injuries

my view is if we got 6m for agger whats the point, thats not much more than konchesky. theres no rush to cash in, keep him and see if he comes through it ???

Serious question, has anyone massively injury prone still by that age (24 maybe?) Ever got over it? Why are people assuming he will?
Nothing like Agger, but I used to be very worried about Gerrard's frequent injuries when he was younger. I forget the reason but he got over that fortunately.
I love Agger in central defense but I really do wonder whether he'll ever be capable of going through a season without a serious injury.
We really have benefited in recent years when we had ever-presents like Henchoz, Hyppia, Carra, Riise, Finnan, etc. Good quality (a couple great) defenders that would always play together all season long.

not arsed really, too injury prone, best give him a chance to heal up and improve his price and get rid. We need more consistency, not some guy is very good when he plays 20/60 games every year. Hopefully we get 10m pounds and put that toward someone like Simon Kjaer or even Mertesacker.

Seriously. It's fucking boring now. Some shite rag makes up a story and Roy's a cunt. Roy pretty much dispels any rumour and we get the same faces still banging on.
Yep, sad monotonous cunts.

I can't name a player who had had so many injuries and then 'comes back' to play a shit load of games for the rest of his career, and neither can you from the sound of it.

Agger is the Danish Woodgate; Cultured, good, but slightly overrated, and ultimately fucking useless because he's never fit.

Jan Mølby joins the choir: Agger is leaving in January - latest next Summer.

Looks like he'll go to Inter.

I just wish he wasnt always broken and showing why he's a good CB.

We can't keep losing our best players.

Can someone with one of these chalkboard things confirm if agger's passing is any more accurate than carra?

They both lose it an awful lot from what I can see, the only difference is agger's look prettier because of his 'cultured left foot'.

His main attribute for me is not his passing but his way on the ball. The way he can move the ball forward on the ground and out of danger and potentially add up numbers in attack.

Warnock and Gerrard both had massive injury problems when they were younger before overcoming them. (Although I would also sell Agger).

It's been a while since I've seen Warnock down with cramp actually.

People can change after all.

I think Gerrard's injuries were also mainly linked to growth issues when he was younger (or something like that)

Don't know whether to laugh or cry a bit with regards to these comments but anyways, Roy's publicly denying Agger is about to leave:

- Daniel Agger hasn't deserved all the doubts surrounding his future why I'd like to send a public message about his current situation. Let me say this as clear as possible: We have not discussed selling Daniel Agger, the gaffer told Danish newspaper B.T.

- I won't sell Daniel. It has not been discussed and the truth is I hardly know him as a player yet, because he's been injured during most of the Autumn.

We wouldnt get much money for him because why would a club spunk up cash for a player whos injured all the time and on huge wages? We dont have a choice but to keep Bruckner occupied.

Agger’s future, meanwhile, has been cast into doubt amid suggestions Bayer Leverkusen are one of a number of Bundesliga sides confident they can land the Dane in January. It is believed Liverpool may be willing to listen to offers.

Juventus, Inter Milan and Wolfsburg are all allegedly lining-up bids for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger.

According to Italian website Itasportpress, Liverpool have received enquiries about Agger's value from all three clubs as the race for the Denmark international hots up.

But, despite Agger's ongoing injury problems, he is thought to still be in the plans of Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson.

The Anfield supremo is understood to be concerned at the lack of depth in his defensive ranks - especially after the long-term injury to Liverpool vice-captain Jamie Carragher - so intends to keep as many stoppers on his books as possible.

Agger began the season operating as a left-back for Liverpool and, after the Anfield club's poor start to the campaign, the 25-year-old appeared to hit out at the tactics employed by the new Liverpool manager.

However, the former Brondby centre-back refuted these claims; explaining that he had been misquoted in the Danish media.

"I am very disappointed with the papers in Denmark for the way they have done this story," he told the official Liverpool website.

"I spoke to Danish TV after the game [with Manchester United] and answered the questions that were put to me. I didn’t speak to the papers.

"What came out was one hundred per cent wrong and that is why I am very disappointed.

"An example is the quote about me not playing long balls. I actually think we play good football and that we have showed that against United and against Arsenal."

Hodgson is thought to be keen to add to his threadbare defence in January, with Lille's Adil Rami and Bolton star Gary Cahill both linked with moves to Liverpool.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has rejected talk that he could leave the club in January.

Reports have suggested Agger could be on his way out of Anfield in the next transfer window with German side Wolfsburg credited with an interest in the centre-half.

However, Agger, who is recovering from a calf injury, insists he has no plans to leave Liverpool and that he will not be forced out of the club.

"Liverpool can't force me out of the club even if they want to as I have got four years left on my contract," Agger told Jyllands-Posten.

"I find it strange that people who don't know anything shout everything possible.

"I expect Roy Hodgson to have the guts to tell me face to face if he doesn't want me and he hasn't said that."

Hahaha. Strong comments from Agger.
It's probably just me but I actually like that comment by him.
I like the fact that he really wants to stay at this club. Grass is greener syndrome is abundant in football today so it's a fresh change.

Yeah, strong indeed - words like guts and force. Wonder if its one of those 'translation problems' like how it apparently was when he 'criticised' the way of play previously. :-X

Call me a cynic, but to me he knows nobody else but Liverpool FC would pay him £70,000 a week to lie on the treatment table.

I think he could easily get that much at the likes of Juventus and Milan.
He loves the city and loves the club (I think!).
He's a damn fine player when fit too, so I hope he stays and gets over his injury nightmare.

Coincidentally, this has come out on the same day where Wolfsburg's linked with a £12m bid.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger could join former England manager Steve McClaren at Wolfsburg in January.

Reports in German say talks between the Bundesliga club and Liverpool have taken place with an impressive fee of around £12m mentioned.

Agger has been used sparingly since joining the club from Brondby in 2007 and has struggled with injuries since Roy Hodgson's arrival.

Juventus are also said to be monitoring the player's situation but it is unclear whether Hodgson will allow him to leave with defensive cover in short supply at Anfield.

Jamie Carragher suffered a dislocated shoulder at the weekend and is facing up to three months out and Agger could be required to fill in during his absence.
