Agger’s future, meanwhile, has been cast into doubt amid suggestions Bayer Leverkusen are one of a number of Bundesliga sides confident they can land the Dane in January. It is believed Liverpool may be willing to listen to offers.
Juventus, Inter Milan and Wolfsburg are all allegedly lining-up bids for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger.
According to Italian website Itasportpress, Liverpool have received enquiries about Agger's value from all three clubs as the race for the Denmark international hots up.
But, despite Agger's ongoing injury problems, he is thought to still be in the plans of Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson.
The Anfield supremo is understood to be concerned at the lack of depth in his defensive ranks - especially after the long-term injury to Liverpool vice-captain Jamie Carragher - so intends to keep as many stoppers on his books as possible.
Agger began the season operating as a left-back for Liverpool and, after the Anfield club's poor start to the campaign, the 25-year-old appeared to hit out at the tactics employed by the new Liverpool manager.
However, the former Brondby centre-back refuted these claims; explaining that he had been misquoted in the Danish media.
"I am very disappointed with the papers in Denmark for the way they have done this story," he told the official Liverpool website.
"I spoke to Danish TV after the game [with Manchester United] and answered the questions that were put to me. I didn’t speak to the papers.
"What came out was one hundred per cent wrong and that is why I am very disappointed.
"An example is the quote about me not playing long balls. I actually think we play good football and that we have showed that against United and against Arsenal."
Hodgson is thought to be keen to add to his threadbare defence in January, with Lille's Adil Rami and Bolton star Gary Cahill both linked with moves to Liverpool.
Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has rejected talk that he could leave the club in January.
Reports have suggested Agger could be on his way out of Anfield in the next transfer window with German side Wolfsburg credited with an interest in the centre-half.
However, Agger, who is recovering from a calf injury, insists he has no plans to leave Liverpool and that he will not be forced out of the club.
"Liverpool can't force me out of the club even if they want to as I have got four years left on my contract," Agger told Jyllands-Posten.
"I find it strange that people who don't know anything shout everything possible.
"I expect Roy Hodgson to have the guts to tell me face to face if he doesn't want me and he hasn't said that."
Liverpool defender Daniel Agger could join former England manager Steve McClaren at Wolfsburg in January.
Reports in German say talks between the Bundesliga club and Liverpool have taken place with an impressive fee of around £12m mentioned.
Agger has been used sparingly since joining the club from Brondby in 2007 and has struggled with injuries since Roy Hodgson's arrival.
Juventus are also said to be monitoring the player's situation but it is unclear whether Hodgson will allow him to leave with defensive cover in short supply at Anfield.
Jamie Carragher suffered a dislocated shoulder at the weekend and is facing up to three months out and Agger could be required to fill in during his absence.
